You will be part of the Service Delivery Platform – Vessel Optimization (VO) team, focused on streamlining, optimizing, and automating shipping/vessel operations via advanced software solutions. You will join one of our highly capable scrum teams in Bangalore/Pune/Mumbai/Chennai and will work closely with both business and technology to build the digital backbone of our global shipping logistics business.
As a Senior Software Engineer you are the technical anchor for your scrum team. Your focus is to ensure that the team delivers high quality and high value software products for our business and you understand that empowering everyone in the team is the most efficient way to get there. You will help guide the technical direction of the team, take part in design discussions, do hands-on software development, and actively engage with stakeholders from both business and technology to align expectations and remove roadblocks.

Key responsibilities

• As a contributing engineer in the Service Delivery Platform (VO), you will be expected to design, build, test and deploy stable, scalable and simple solutions.
• Follow the DevSecOps approach, contribute on engineering activities for the sprint including coding, design, testing, devops pipeline and support.
• You need to exhibit good communication skills to collaborate with product owners, engineering, and management across different geographic locations.
• Create and recommend design options factoring in functional/non-functional requirements, standards, and current infrastructure environment.
• Guide and mentor other members in the team to promote highly technical and self-sufficient teams.
• Imbibe CI-CD, agility, clean code/architecture as a culture within the team.
• Improve, optimize, and identify opportunities for efficient software development processes.
• Mentor junior members in the team and provide them guidance on design and writing high quality code.
• Continuously stay up to date on relevant technologies and use this knowledge to push the team forward.
• Propose ideas and provide key inputs to the product and leadership team on product/platform roadmap.
• Promote and support company policies, procedures, mission, Maersk Values, and standards of ethics and integrity.

We are looking for

Your Qualifications
• Graduate Degree - B.E/BS/MS/PhD in any stream (Computer Science most preferred).
• 10+ years of experience in software product engineering.
• A highly competent software engineer with proven experience in C#, .NET Core/6, ASP.NET Core, and Microsoft Azure.
• Engineer with strong experience in Java/Golang with willingness to work in C#/Azure.
• Applied experience in industry recommended software design, patterns and practises.
• Must have been part of least one cloud native (private/public) application from conceptualization to production.

Mandatory Skills
• Hands-on knowledge in designing, writing and reviewing high performant, reactive clean code in C# (version 7+)/Java/Golang.
• Hands-on knowledge in designing and building API/Service platforms with documentation, sandboxes, monitoring for the cloud (public/private).
• Knowledge into designing distributed services and applications.
• Hands-on knowledge in designing and modelling data in RDBMS and NoSQL data bases.
• Hands-on experience with Azure, CLI environments of Linux.
• Hands-on experience with other Cloud platforms like AWS/GCP is a plus.
• Good to have working experience in product companies into ecommerce/ logistics.
• A good technical mindset and product development driven experience.
• Strong opinions on technology, product and design backed by data relevant to our business
• Strong sense of product ownership and commitment to grow and build product thinking, coupled with a strong passion for technology and innovation
• Passion to seek and evangelize tools to help development, testing and deployment, including automation.
• Passion for quick learning, experimenting and adapting in a fast-paced agile global environment.
• Penchant to look at production and identify technical requirements for product improvements.
• Strong sense of ownership focuses on quality, responsiveness, efficiency and innovation.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
