At Maersk, we are transforming to become the global integrator of container logistics- connecting and simplifying our customers’ supply chains. The Technology Group is critical to realising the company strategy. We plan on significantly enhancing our Technology capabilities and are implementing a new technology architecture led through Platform Operating Model. The Cloud Engineering Unit within the Technology Group is accountable for end to end delivery of Service Reliability, Availability, Performance, Cost and Fit for Purpose solutions there by enabling the Platform Operating Model.

Key Responsibilities


• Develop and modify custom web applications written in React
• Application development with complex RESTful API integrations
• Develop and modify custom APIs using C# on ASP.NET
• Collaborate as part of an agile team to deliver product features
• Write and implement unit tests based on acceptance criteria with TDD in mind
• Drive design patterns and frameworks for tying UI/UX to back-end/service implementations
• Review code for other team members in a constructive unopinionated way
• Optimise value, minimise work – automate to eliminate manual toil and deliver value faster
• Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement and task estimation
• Ongoing education and learning of new programming techniques and technology
• Working with teams across the organization to deliver outcomes for the business stakeholders to define and evolve products from concept to reality
• Contribute to the definition, development, testing, and deployment of software solutions in coordination with other initiatives and solutions


We are looking for


Minimum 2 years of experience in mixed frontend/backend development. We recognise that the split of experience may not be equal, but we are looking for the willingness to switch from front to back end as per the demands of the product. Our goal to create a multi-skilled team. Knowledge of public cloud (Azure, AWS, GCP) would be a distinct advantage.

• Good working knowledge of front-end development languages, tools and methodologies (HTML5, CSS3, Javascript, React)
• Experience of front-end application development using React.
• Experience of building micro-services using ASP.NET as a framework. Knowledge of Docker containers and Kubernetes hosting would be a bonus
• Experience with Web Services (JSON, REST)
• Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD model of development
• Understanding of OOP, design patterns, and industry best practices
• Agile project experience along with working on Agile tools like Azure DevOps
• Should be able to collaborate and work with global teams
• Able to present and communicate technical concepts in a clear and concise manner
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, supported by excellent written and oral communication
• Experience of working in a cloud environment (Azure)
• Experience with microservices and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)
• A keen interest in, or experience of Golang and cloud-native development

Of course, all these responsibilities are covered by the team already, which means you will not be alone in any of this. We work agile and each scrum team for our product consists of 4-6 developers, 1 UX Designers, product owner and scrum master, all eager to get you up to speed. No matter your experience, it’s important you have the right mind-set, open to learning and applying new skills within software development. Overall, we expect our new colleague to be a team player, curious, customer focused, eager to learn and drive change.
