As a software engineer in the decision science team you will be a key player in designing, building and maintaining infrastructure to host our optimization engines in a microservice architecture and help the decision science team share our services with products across the platform in the best possible way. We offer
You will be part of the Service Delivery Platform focused on streamlining, optimizing, and automating our network and container operations via advanced software solutions.
You will be joining a dedicated decision science team, where we design, build and maintain mathematical models and solution algorithms for a suite of products servicing tools for network design, capacity utilization simulation, equipment planning and automated contingency handling.
As a software engineer in the decision science team you will take central part in designing and implementing core infrastructure to offer our optimization engines as shared services and/or software packages.
You will be part of a strong team dedicated to building optimization engines that can seamlessly integrate with a portfolio of products supporting our business in planning and executing our global network. The products are build by our many talented engineering teams and you will be a key player in integrating our optimization engines as services into these products by designing and implementing a modern cloud-based infrastructure scalable to multiple software products in collaboration with the engineering teams in the platform.

Key responsibilities
- Designing, implementing and maintaining cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines to expose our optimization engines as shared services and/or shared libraries used by multiple products in the platform.
- Collaborate with multiple product teams consuming our services to ensure stable, scalable and simple interaction between products and optimization engines.
- Design and implement scalable, generic regression test frameworks to support the stable development of our optimization engines
- Assist in building software systems for data input validation
- Create cloud infrastructure and procedures to store input data from production for posterior analysis.
- Expose metrics on the optimization to the joint platform.
- Identify opportunities for efficient software development and contribute to agile process in the team.
- Continuously stay up-to-date on relevant technologies and use this knowledge to guide the team on design and architecture.
We are looking for
- A team player
- A competent software engineer with a passion for microservices and cloud engineering
- +2 years experience as a software developer
- A good communicator comfortable working in a scientific team and collaborating with multiple product teams.
- Fluency with either Python, C++ or C#. Having more programming language proficiencies is a plus.
- A quick learner comfortable with experimenting and adapting
- Experience with Cloud infrastructure (K8s, Terraform), Docker, CI/CD tools is a plus
- Experience with Linux and Windows is a plus
