Key responsibilities

You will be part of a strong full-stack software product engineering team, shaping product and business decisions to help drive digital transformation at one of the largest companies in the world. Your responsibilities include:

  • Perform the role of Scrum Master for a high performing sprint team
  • Run sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint retrospective, daily scrum, and other project planning meetings.
  • Coordinating deliveries across multiple scrum teams
  • Forecast sprint iterations with the Product Owner and concerned business partners to better understand dependencies between tasks and teams.
  • Shield sprint teams from outside distractions and unintended dependencies and interference
  • Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis on problem solving.
  • Facilitate discussions, decision making, and conflict resolution between sprint team members and Product Owners.
  • Managing the engagement with an acquired organization
  • Work with service owners, engineering manager and scrum teams to plan sprint execution by adopting various lean strategies
  • Understand and explain key metrics to the team to drive continuous improvements
  • Mentor and Coach teams in agile processes and tools to develop well scoped issues and epics and correct use of scrum process

We are looking for

  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering team working in a scrum master capacity
  • Demonstrable experience of working in a complex IT environment with a clear service focus
  • Extensive experience of agile delivery approaches including delivery of agile at scale (e.g. SAFe, LEAN, Kanban, etc) and associated ways of working
  • Extensive knowledge of scrum/project and services methodologies and development principles, challenges, and best practices
  • Strong communication skills and interpersonal relationship development skills
  • Strong understanding of the various agile frameworks like Scrum and Kanban alongside the development tools used to support them such as Atlassian JIRA and Confluence
  • Certified Scrum Master including extensive experience in a scrum master role e.g. PSM1
  • Configuration and/or development of industry standard enterprise operations workflow tools such as JIRA and ServiceNow
  • Good understanding of the approach and process required to successfully introduce new and changed services into an enterprise operations function
  • Strong understanding of the technology and tools required to support service operations in a large enterprise
  • Detailed understanding of what is required to run operational services effectively
