We are a young company building the world's first system for fully automated just-in-time clothing production. We call that system a Microfactory and thought it is roughly the size of a shipping container we managed to fit one into our offices in Nordvest, Copenhagen.
Working as a Software Architect at Rodinia Generation, you will lead the architecting and deployment of our operations platform. The operations platform is the brain of the operation and lets an operations crew manage and run the production floor efficiently.
You will be working in the real world. Your deployment operates the microfactory, and you can see it from your desk. You will also be working alongside the people using your software. Expect quick feedback on new deployments and frequent feature requests (you don't actually have to take them seriously all the time).

Our goal at Rodinia Generation is to change the industry of clothing production. By developing a local, ultra-fast and highly automated model for fashion production, we want to drive the shift towards a more sustainable future where fashion does not rely on long fragile supply chains that cause fresh water pollution, human suffering and great environmental damage. Our manufacturing process uses no water, produces no chemical waste and beats all current manufacturing alternatives on speed and environmental footprint. We are building the worlds first competitive alternative to the industrial status-quo of the fashion industry.

We expect that you have:
Technical skills:
- Relevant education (MSc/PhD) or other proof of high competence.
- You can communicate clearly in English, both written and oral.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience developing web applications.
- Experience architecting systems. Hats off if you can draw beautifully and explain clearly.
- Experience deploying distributed software systems. Working knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes (or similar) and cloud instances (through whatever provider).
- Experience architecting database systems and web services.
- Experience with multiple programming languages (C#, Python, JavaScript)
General skills:
- A product mindset. You enjoy coding, but really you just care that the product is great. Whether it be preventing an unlikely cause of downtime or correcting the occasional typo, you must obsessively enjoy making great products.
- A strong autonomous drive. You will not be given many instructions in this role. You are hired to be the expert of everything that touches architecture, deployment and cloud, and then we let you do your thing.
- You are a team player. You are patient and can communicate complicated technical ideas to nontechnical people, or engineers in other fields.
It is a plus if you:
- Headed deployment of a SaaS platform or similar.
- Have strong opinions about distributed systems in practice. We can discuss topics like "monolith vs. microservices", "design", and "complexity".
- Are curious about cutting edge technologies that will make your life as a developer and architect easier.
- You are interested in DevOps.
- You like big machines and IoT. Maybe you have even worked with some.

Day-to-day
- We are a small company that will grow. You will initially be working in a small software team and be your own manager. You should want to advance your responsibilities over time and take on leadership.
- We are pragmatic and we all want the same thing. Our combined efforts go into building a strong product (the Microfactory)
- We are currently in a very R&D-focused development phase. Our manufacturing site is located inside our office space and we run a very tight loop between ideation and execution.
- We are a small, mixed bunch. Fashion designers, software engineers, print specialists, production managers and more.
