group.ONE is looking for a Data Scientist in Copenhagen
group.ONE gathers 100+ TB of data every single day – DNS records, visits to websites, purchases in webshops, and much more. We are looking for a Data Scientist that is excited about machine learning and AI and is willing to advance group.ONE's data science capabilities. As part of our data team, you will be responsible for scoping, training, and implementing machine learning models. There are many relevant use cases, such as churn prevention, sales optimisation- and segmentation models. It is all about using data to help normal users to get more done online. You will work closely with the Marketing, Product and Engineering teams, among others.

What you will do
Find and assess new use cases for machine learning
- Identify new opportunities to use Machine Learning methodologies
- Assess value, feasibility, viability, and usability for the use cases
- Design tests to validate assumptions early on
Further improve way-of-work, methods, and environment of analytics
- Support and improve how the Group are using and interpreting A/B testing
- Work closely with our UX & Researchers with customer segmentations
- Work with our data engineers to connect more data sources (internally as well as external) that will enhance our data science capabilities
- Further, streamline processes and environment of
- Training models
- Put models into production
- Model delivery
Build models for churn prevention and sales-optimisation
- Identify important data points for the various use cases
- Perform feature engineering to identify signals in the data
- Choose good metrics to measure model performance
- Evaluate models and their impact continuously
What we are hoping you are
- Intelligent and result-oriented, being able to structure work independently
- Able to explain complex topics in simple terms
- Curious about new Machine Learning trends and potential use cases. Be an advocate for best practices and continued learning
- Detail-oriented when needed. Being able to decide on the right level of details, e.g., knowing the difference between important data from less important, and important tasks from less important ones
- Pragmatic, willing to use the best tool-for-the-job
- Able to keep promises and remain a trusted business partner
- A strong team member in a growing team of data scientists, data engineers, and BI specialists
What we are hoping you know
- Professional experience with python, including python data libraries (numpy, pandas, matplotlib/seaborn, scikit-learn, tensorflow or keras), or R
- You have knowledge of machine learning techniques such as SVMs, logistic regression, deep neural networks, cross-validation, naive bayes, feature extraction and a solid background in statistics
- Knows various Machine learning hacks, such as how to avoid overfitting, handling unbalanced datasets and how imputation impacts your results
- Proficient in various SQL and NoSQL databases, such as PostgreSQL, Snowflake or Hadoop
- Experience owning a project from concept to production, including assessment of value, scoping, and final delivery
- Knowledge of data pipelining (e.g., via Airflow) and scripting, such as Bash and Python
- Confident in version control methodologies and tools
