In the TRIOS Studios program we coordinate, validate, and deploys bundles of CAD/CAM software supporting the use of our TRIOS Intraoral scanner with design and manufacturing applications.
We are now looking for a talented and experienced System Architect for one of our programs, responsible for deploying a suite of software products for dental clinics. Our new architect will have a cross-project role that truly takes a “system view” on the development with focus on cross-module and cross-project dependencies. She or he plays a critical role in helping align teams in a common technical direction and supervises and foster build-in quality.
A part of the role and responsibility will be to act as a project manager for our automatic workflow testing project.

The position
As a System Architect you will:
- Drive and coordinate automated test in the program with a focus on cross-module and cross-functional dependencies.
- Participate in planning, defining and high-level design of the overall product release to the market and explore alternatives establishing critical non-functional requirements.
- Support project teams in the program with design and code reviews and iterate on the architecture when needed. Occasionally you may code yourself.
- Participate in planning meetings with project and product managers to ensure that the program plan considers technical dependencies across modules and projects.
- Help to minimize technical debt and define technology roadmaps together with other system and software architects.
- Engage with stakeholders both inside and outside the program. You will also be a member of 3Shape’s Architecture network group which runs occasional workshops and tech talks.
As a Project Manager for an automated test system, you will:
- Ensure stakeholder communication and provide status to sponsors.
- Ensure alignment of the chosen technical direction across multiple teams.
- Establish anchorage and ownership of further development and maintenance of the test system and test cases.
- Ensure that the test system can be used for release testing and take part in official medical device documentation.
In project teams we use tools like Git, Jira, TeamCity, Jenkins, and Visual Studio with ReSharper. The tech stack is C# on the .NET framework 4.6.1 with WPF for the user interface, with plans to move to newer .NET framework.
Our vision of the ideal candidate
As the role is a combination of system architect and project manager, several years of experience with software development and project management will be required. Your experience should include comprehensive knowledge of design methods and technologies in general as well as having a great interest in gaining an in-depth understanding of the products and its users.
Our program includes several projects with dependencies and linked to each other, therefore experience in ensuring that program and project plans are technically feasible is important.
Most important is that you like working with developing advanced software and interested in learning new methods, technologies and enjoy technical discussions with colleagues. We hope that you like to bring your ideas to the table but also execute on your tasks and use your strong collaboration skills helping the team succeed.
Skills & Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience as Software Architect or lead developer on the .NET platform
- Degree in computer science, engineering, IT or similar
- Confident working in cross-site projects with many stakeholders
- Outgoing personality with strong communication and cooperation skills. Skilled in writing technical specification documents
- Taking ownership, seeing the big technical picture, and having a pragmatic approach towards what is durable within the agreed time
- Experience with project management, preferably in a MedTech company.
