Software Developer e-FX – Copenhagen

At Banking Circle e-FX team we are building a cloud-based, state-of-the-art foreign exchange infrastructure from scratch in close collaboration with our customers to complement our high-volume payment system. Our customers are both tech-savvy payment service providers and large-scale financial corporations.

The position and why we need you
At Banking Circle, we want to make an impact that pioneers the industry and creates instant value for our clients. We therefore focus on rapid prototyping and quick incremental releases to enhance our existing features and build new ones, often together with our customers. It is therefore important that you feel comfortable explaining technical concepts and solutions to customers and colleagues who are not necessarily from a technical background, as well as to those who are.
Specifically, we build foreign exchange trading components in .NET (C#) using the latest technologies and ensure a smooth integration to our core banking and payment systems. This includes automation of risk management, adapters to FX market liquidity providers and venues, trade execution, and client-facing API solutions, and much more. We use event sourcing and microservices architecture. We pride ourselves on taking ownership of our flow and adjusting components also outside of our own realm wherever necessary.
You will join a small team operating using agile principles in an informal structure. This is a unique opportunity for you to learn and develop with guidance and mentorship from colleagues with a combined experience of 30+ years in financial markets. We expect you to be detail-oriented and proactive and not afraid of a learning curve.
Skills & Qualifications
To be the right candidate we expect you to have a couple years of experience with C#/.Net Core or another object-oriented programming language either from a university degree or from your previous job. You are ambitious and you have a willingness to learn and develop in areas where you might not be an expert and will ask questions when you find yourself in the deep end of the pool, but at the same time challenge existing views from more senior developers than you.
Additionally, you have experience with some of the following technologies:
- REST APIs
- SQL
- Microservices Architecture
- Unit testing & end-to-end testing
- FIX Protocol
- Knowledge and/or interest in Foreign Exchange Markets
- Git & Azure Devops
You have an educational background within computer science, engineering or another applicable field (BSc level as a minimum). As a person you are pro-active, responsible and quality oriented. You have strong analytical skills and a structured way of working and courage to try new things. We furthermore expect you to be a dependable and knowledge-sharing team-player that cooperates well at all levels of an organization. As Banking Circle is an international company it´s a requirement, that you are fluent in English, both verbally and in writing.
The position will be based at Banking Circle’s office in Copenhagen.
