Dedicated developers, test engineers, software architects, and other specialists will be contributing to the solution across multiple teams and locations..Therefore, we are now looking for an R&D Software Group Manager that will take responsibility for hiring, nurturing, and developing the teams located at our site in Copenhagen – the estimated group size will be between 8 to 12 people.By the way, if you are wondering about our use of the title “Group Manager”, here is the 3Shape R&D definition: A Team Lead does personnel management of a singular team, a Group Manager has multiple teams (the most logical next career step for a Group Manager in 3Shape would be Development Manager (i.e. department head), but now we are getting ahead of ourselves 😊 )Management for a small component team is the other half of the job (the current Project Manager has taken a new role inside 3Shape travelling onwards on his chosen career path).If this piques your interest, read on!The positionYour Group Manager responsibilities in 4 words: Attract, retain, and develop Talent. And with Talent, we are mainly thinking Software Developers, those coveted rock stars that are in so high demand all over the world.Closing three to four new budgeted positions, as well as keeping motivation and engagement high among existing staff, will be your main goal for the first term (there is a great mood in our office, so you will start from a high point on the second task).For you to succeed, you will have the backing of our competent HR department (a.k.a. People & Organisation), modern IT-tooling, and mentoring from your own experienced 3Shape manager. But foremost, the most powerful tools in your toolbox will be the uniqueness of our collaborative culture and the coolness of our products and tasks.We hope your experience during your own recruitment into the 3Shape family will give you trust in that statement (and maybe our edgy location in downtown Copenhagen also helps a bit?)As for the project management part of the position, classic PM skills – such as planning, analyzing, documenting, and doing stakeholder management are key paramount. We do not implement any of the big, well-known Project Management frameworks in R&D, but rather follow a distilled, lean process model, in line with our desire to minimize bureaucracy and optimize efficiency (and hopefully increase joy of going to work every day).Are you still intrigued?   • Experience in People Management of Software professionals.
  • Preferably you have at some point been working as a developer or been closely involved in software products.
  • A good feeling for what makes a good cultural fit in a team (and be a good 3Shape fit yourself)..
  • Experience with Agile Software development (we mainly use SCRUM and some Kanban).
  • Experience or education in Project Management within the field of product development.
  • A mindset that thrives in an empowered and collaborative environment.
  • A relevant educational background (or experience) in engineering or natural sciences.
  • Proficiency in English as this is our working language.
