Would you like to use your skills to the benefit of patients around the world? Are you curious about data and how they are modelled to support the business? Are you experienced in converting business needs for data-enabled processes to user friendly tools and solutions? Do you see yourself supporting cross-functional data and IT projects with different stakeholders within the organisation?

Then you are a candidate for our vacant position in the department Supply Chain Optimisation in Clinical Supplies.

As our new data-minded senior systems developer, you will be responsible for developing new and existing applications and tools in Clinical Supplies (CS). You will be a key person in understanding and developing our systems and data for the clinical supply chain in close cooperation with two other systems developers and a solution architect.

The department

Before drug is approved for market use, drug candidates are tested in clinical trials. CS is responsible for delivering drugs for Novo Nordisk’s clinical trials around the world.

Supply Chain Optimisation is a department of 11 colleagues, who work across CS and with direct link to CS Management. Our role is to carry out strategic projects optimising the clinical supply chain. Our way of working is informal and ambitious at the same time. We work in close cooperation with Line of Business, who are the users of our solutions, and our approach to internal IT development is agile.

We are responsible for IT systems and tools used for supply chain management e.g. for simulation of demand in clinical trials, pack and distribution planning, and planning of clinical trial activities.

Our ambition in CS is to become fully digitalised. We want to obtain this by developing new systems and tools and by improving the use and integration of our current IT systems and tools.

The position

We need you to have a deep understanding of our systems and tools, their data and their capabilities enabling us to release the full potential in optimising our processes. You will design and develop applications and tools primarily based on the .NET platform. You will work with business subject-matter experts, project managers and relevant department colleagues.

Furthermore, you will use your system and data knowledge to support the business with ad hoc data queries from the systems. During authority inspections, or in case of quality issues, this will be under pressure, with limited time and ultimate demands regarding the quality of the output as patient safety or company reputation can be at stake. Furthermore, you will be responsible for up-to-date knowledge on data blinding for blinded clinical trials.

As we are a small department, we expect you to take a broad responsibility in development and maintenance of our solutions and we expect that you find it interesting to influence the way we develop and release software. You will have unique opportunity to influence our approach to systems development, and we expect you to act as a role model for less experienced developers.

Qualifications

You hold a degree in engineering, IT or similar and have several years of experience working with IT and business processes. You have documented results within systems development. You have a solid analytical foundation that you apply in your work.

You have several years of experience with the .NET framework and preferably in C#. You are proficient in SQL and you are strong in design of data models but are also comfortable working on the frontend (Windows applications as well as web solutions). You enjoy analysing data and you can extract the essence from complex datasets and make it presentable. Preferably, you have experience with basic management of SQL server databases. You are experienced producing loosely coupled and testable code. It is a plus if you have worked with Continuous Integration and build automation. You are - or would like to become - used to working with Azure DevOps.

You take an interest in the business and you understand how the tools you implement support the business processes.

On a personal level you thrive from helping colleagues, you work independently, deliver high quality, keep calm and focused under pressure and keep deadlines. You are fluent in Danish and English both written and spoken.

It is an advantage if you have supply chain experience and understanding of regulatory requirements.

Deadline

Interviews will be carried out an ongoing basis. Final deadline is 12 January 2020.

Millions rely on us
To work for Novo Nordisk you will need the skills, dedication and ambition to change lives for the better for millions of patients living with diabetes and other chronical diseases.
