About the department
You will be part of a DevOps team of 9 people managing their infrastructure within research. Daily you will handle inquiries from scientists, such as change requests and support issues. Furthermore, you will participate in developing their future solutions for cloud technologies, HPC, data labs etc.
Their scientific users are situated globally, and you will therefore be working in an international environment with colleagues around the globe.

The position
The responsibilities include end-user and vendor communication, troubleshooting, patching, and day-to-day operational activities of servers, and management of Linux workstations. You will be working in close collaboration with your colleagues and different stakeholders.
Besides maintaining operations, you will also drive projects independently, so as a person you are curious and enjoy engaging with vendors as well as stakeholders.
Qualifications
As a minimum, you have a bachelor’s degree within IT, scientific computing, or another relevant field. You have a passion and interest in working with IT to make a difference. Furthermore, you have a professional background as part of a large IT organization or from running IT infrastructure at a small/ mid-size company.

- +3 years of experience with system administration of both Linux and Windows servers.
- configuration management such as, but not limited to, Puppet/ Bolt and/or Ansible
- running virtualisation platforms, e.g., VMWare and/or Proxmox or similar.
- It is an advantage if you also have experience with or knowledge of one or more of the following
- monitoring of servers and applications (e.g. Prometheus).
- running containers (e.g. Docker or Kubernetes).
- programming skills in one or multiple languages (e.g. Python, Bash).
- working and deploying solutions on the large cloud platforms Azure or AWS.
- working in a DevOps environment using IT and engineering tools for collaboration and issue tracking (e.g. Jira, git, Azure DevOps).
