Blue Ocean Robotics – a Robot Venture Factory in Odense, Denmark – develop and build mobile service robots within the health, hotel, construction and agriculture sector. For example the disinfection robot UVD Robots and the patient moving robot Multi-Tower. Blue Ocean Robotics supply all our venture companies, who are selling the service robots, with high quality robots on-time in a volume that is about to scale.
We are looking for a Senior Navigation Software Developer with at least 5 years of experience, who can join our journey for making the service robots of the future. The Senior Navigation Developer has a leading role in developing our navigation stack and work at the intersection of hardware and software, with a focus on the software that integrates the sensor systems, providing the cognitive capabilities of the navigation framework. The expectation is that you will be able to identify, document, and solve navigation problems using a combination of analytical, simulation, and physical methods.
You will be a part of a team that develops the next generation of our UVD Robots, expanding the field of use and level of autonomy so the robot can perform more tasks independently. You will work closely with other experts within other areas of mobile robotics, as well as mentoring other developers within you field of expertise.
As a Senior Navigation Software Developer in Blue Ocean Robotics, you will have a unique opportunity to influence both product development and future technology platforms of the company. The Senior Developer will be part of the mobile robotics skill group and report to the Vice President of Robot technology.
Your profile
We expect at least 5 years of relevant work experience and a proven track record as within navigation from a relevant industry involving autonomous robotics navigation. You are expected to bring some fields of deep expertise areas within mobile robotics as well as having a good overview within the domains of mechatronics, sensor technologies, software development and systems engineering which Blue Ocean Robotics sees as the core of mobile robotics.
Your knowledge and experience should add up to great demonstrable skills within creation of mobile robots. We have a preference of people who think, dream and talk about robots 24/7.

As a person you are self propelled, getting-things-done oriented, systematic, analytical but yet pragmatic, and you are not afraid of challenging targets and KPIs. You are data focussed and documentation and digitally oriented with a strong ability to manage everyday challenges in a robot venture factory, which is one of a kind in the world.

The candidate will work in our headquarters in Odense, but with contact to our developers at other sites, presently in Copenhagen and Barcelona.

- Control and navigation theory
- Perception and experience in 3D obstacle avoidance
- Fusion of input from multiple sensors
- Calibration of mobile robots including ground truth systems
- Solid experience in structured C++ programming.
- Experience with ROS and proficient in Linux using Git or other version control.
- The ability to work independently with a good sense of responsibility and ownership
