Responsibilities (what you will do)
- Lead and own the development of a scalable web application using the latest Python and Django stack (backend) and React (frontend)
- Be hands-on in the code and contribute technically as well.
- Own the platform architecture and continuously seek ways to optimize it together with the other team members, research and select tools to support the goals of the project
- Lead and coach team members, act as a mentor, participate in code reviews and knowledge sharing
- Work closely with our Product and Marketing teams to develop innovative solutions.
- Understand the business requirements beyond the specifications and keep the customer in mind.
- Ensure that software designs follow best practices and architectural guidelines.
Profile
- Proven track record of success in leading and managing software development teams – strong technical mentorship is a must.
- 3+ years of practical experience in Python and Django building enterprise web applications
- 3+ years of experience with Linux and Docker
- 3+ years of experience with React, JavaScript or Typescript and CSS
- 3+ years of experience with relational and NonSQL DBs
- Experience building large scale, high throughput distributed systems and scaling web services, particularly those using and analyzing large amounts of data
- Expertise in agile methodologies; comfortable with rapid iteration and fast delivery
- Experience setting up advanced CI/CD pipelines to support scalability and short deployment cycles
- Experience building highly scalable and reliable RESTful APIs, microservices and web applications
- Experience with cloud solutions, ideally Heroku and AWS
- Curiosity and passion to learn new things and use them
