DevOps Engineer & Java Developer
to international growth company, bringing modern printing to the cloud
For our client Printix is looking for an experienced DevOps engineer who will also take on Java development. This is an important position in the R&D team, as you participate in improving the vital DevOps processes and their Azure Cloud platform.
Printix in Herlev develops a unique Software as a Service Print Management Platform with lots of interesting features. Using this platform, companies can eliminate print servers and the management of print infrastructure is moved to the cloud. Printix have come a long way going global, they are growing more than 100% in 2020 and expands rapidly every day.
Your Key Responsibilities
Your DevOps focus will first and foremost be to keep the platform up and running smoothly at all times. Printix runs a continous delivery and deployment environment where new deployments are pushed to production daily. These daily deployments combined with a constant flow of new customers require a skilled DevOps team.
You will work together with a highly skilled and experienced team of eight backend, DevOps and frontend engineers.
You will participate in scaling the Azure infrastructure and automate operations, optimizing the Continuous Integration processes and inspire the team with the DevOps way and mindset. We also expect you to do very advanced troubleshooting on the setup.
Furthermore, you keep your coding sharp in Java development. There are many server-side Microservices where a few might catch your interest.
In the future, multiple data centers in other regions like US and Australia will be established.
You are most welcome to contribute to new initiatives and have influence on the architecture and technologies/tools used. At present they are among others using Cassandra, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, ZooKeeper, Git, Jenkins, MongoDB, Elasticsearch and PagerDuty.
Professional skills
- You have at least two years of DevOps experience, preferably with the Azure platform - maybe as a consultant, Cloud architect or similar - and see this as a fantastic opportunity to work in a DevOps team where you continuously improve the operational abilities of the platform
- You consider 99.99% uptime is a fun challenge
- You are used to working in an environment with Continuous delivery and integrations - and make sure this runs on rails
- You have some knowledge in Cybersecurity and find this area interesting
- You are skilled in Linux and have some years of Java development experience
- It is an advantage if you have worked with different Cloud set-ups as well as Multi-Tenant or SaaS software solutions
- It is equally an advantage if you have worked with Cassandra, Docker Image, Kubernetes, Kafka, ZooKeeper and MongoDB
Personal qualities
We expect you to be passionate about agile software development and the DevOps role. We are looking for a pragmatic, yet structured DevOps Engineer and Java developer who is a skilled communicator and enjoys working closely with other people. The art of teamwork is crucial to this position.
It is important that you are good at organizing and prioritizing your work. It is an advantage if you are interested in creating and developing things and enjoy seeing the result of your work. You must also be eager to learn and curious regarding new technologies.
