FLINT Systems, Inc. is a data analytics technology firm whose mission is to develop technologies based on computational linguistics to automatically process textual data for the purposes of authorship analysis.
FLINT is a new technology startup that will focus its efforts upon the development of innovative technologies that will be used for purpose of forensic linguistic analysis, contract cheating, etc. FLINT software will be SaaS/Desktop based software tools that will be accessible for users to apply scientifically proven linguistics rules in order to automatically process data from predetermined data sets in order to derive scientifically supportable conclusions pertaining to the data. The software products will utilize technologies that can review and process large data sets, and apply rules of logic to reach the required determination. Intuitive and simple-to-use User Interfaces will be applied to allow non-sophisticated users access and use of the software tools.
The Job
We are looking for a solid backend developer to join our software development team. You will be mainly working closely with our team lead, but will also work with subject matter experts from the linguistics and data science domain.
Our software development team is responsible for developing, deploying, and maintaining SAAS and desktop applications for our customers. We chose Google Cloud Platform to deliver SAAS applications and Electron to build cross-platform desktop apps, all using the modern web stacks. The backend services are mainly written in Python, and the UI is written in Typescript/Angular. The team strives to be up to date on the latest trends of modern infrastructure and tools.
Working in this startup company at an early stage, you will have plenty of chances to grow and learn as you take part in our exciting and ambitious journey, and you will be certain to have a great influence on the evolution of our product.
FLINT is based in the USA and Denmark. This position will be located in Denmark and we are looking for candidates in Denmark that can work remotely.
What You'll Be Doing
● Participate in all cycles of software development
● Develop linguistic features from the input of linguisticians
● Develop the machine learning data pipelines and models from the input of data science experts
● Develop product features from the input of business experts
● Build, test, and deploy Desktop and SaaS solutions
What We're Looking For
● Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
● 3+ years professional experience in backend development
● Solid experience with Python (or other similar languages)
● Solid experience with relational databases (e.g, PosgtresSQL )
● Strong object-oriented programming skills
● Takes pride in making quality code.
● Have a flexible mindset, love to learn new technologies
● Self-motivated, not afraid of taking challenges with a can-do attitude
● Ability to drive and manage local and/or remote tasks
● Fluent in English
You might also have
● Text analysis, natural language processing (NLP) experience
● Machine learning experience
● Frontend knowledge such as HTML, CSS, javascript or framework such as Angular
● Experience with major cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, etc) and tools such as Docker, etc
