The position

You will be assigned to our biggest projects as procurement lead and contract manager. The projects are typically from MDKK 500 and up to several billions. In these, you will work closely together with colleagues in the team and other stakeholders within the company. You will be responsible drafting procurement strategies, plans, organising the procurement and contract management functions on the projects and executing the activities in cooperation with the team. You will have stakeholders on multiple levels within and outside the company.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Overall procurement and contract management responsibility for the projects assigned to you
  • Creation and maintenance of procurement strategies and plans for the projects
  • Ensuring buy in from relevant internal stakeholders on the strategy and plan
  • Reporting to heads of projects.
  • Managing relevant procurement activities including supplier selection in agreement with our category managers

In addition, you will be responsible for executing tendering processes, bid clarification and evaluation, and prepare and negotiate terms & conditions and contract. You will recommend and award suppliers as well as follow up on contracts. You will have full commercial responsibility for the procurement of goods and services to which you are assigned.

Another key area of responsibility is that you ensure and safeguard that all sourcing and supplier related activities are conducted in full compliance with our standards and regulations. Balancing the business and project objectives regarding triple bottom line, risk assessment and deliveries in a complex setting.

There are no formal leadership responsibilities so it is essential that you can get people to follow you without having a managerial responsibility. You continuously keep track of progress and results. You participate in the continuous improvement of our department’s activities, tools, systems, and processes.

Qualifications
You hold either a Bachelor or Master´s degree in Economics, Engineering, Business, Purchasing or similar. You have 8-10 years of relevant experience within the Procurement field, where you have acquired a broad set of skills and a vast knowledge preferably from different roles. Most importantly, you understand in great details the many aspects and dynamics that lies in the procurement area and are able to lead your peers on the ideas you have.

  • Structured, organised and have an analytical mind-set that enables you to conclude fast and efficiently
  • Result-oriented and focused on deliveries of high quality at the right time.
  • A focus on continuous improvement of processes and systems is an inherent part of your working style.

Building and maintaining good working relationships is vital to this role, and the ideal candidate possesses excellent people skills as well as a profound understanding of quality, time, and stakeholder management. Working independently and in a team is a must. You communicate with ease in English and have very solid IT skills.

IES is part of the Product Supply organisation. Product Supply is a modern technology organisation that proactively drives the purpose of Novo Nordisk and delivers the highest quality to patients in a sustainable and efficient way.

In IES, we play a key role in ensuring that there is sufficient capacity to treat our patients worldwide. We are doing so by supporting our global investment projects in engineering and with procurement activities. As function we sit in the sweet spot between our global supplier base and our colleagues in the investment projects who are considered our customers.

Due to the large growth in the overall company, we have also a significant increase in investment spend and related projects that we are supporting.
