About the department In Corporate we build strategies and execute improvement projects to optimize the global indirect spend of DKK 40 billion related to, e.g. R&D activities, marketing services, travel, professional advisory services and IT. R&D and laboratory sourcing department supports global R&D organization and is responsible for ensuring products and services supply required to conduct research from a molecule to product that will help millions of people around the world. The position As a Senior Category Manager, your main responsibilities will be to: • Envision, develop and execute global category strategies based on supplier market insights, advanced data analytics, internal and external trends and in collaboration with colleagues and stakeholders. • Drive complex sourcing projects – from ideation, scoping, through e-sourcing, (e)negotiation, to contract negotiation and implementation. • Own customer relation – actively work to secure procurement involvement in sourcing activities, turn procurement into a trusted partner to the organization by clearly adding value and ensuring business needs are understood and met. • Manage supplier relationship - including supplier segmentation and strategy development and execution of planned activities. • Business development - engage with users in business to develop and quantify ideas for new projects, substitution or value adding activities that generate benefits and savings to the organization. • Coaching colleagues and take a proactive role in the continuous development of the department and our team.
You will be exposed to different organizational areas throughout R&D and beyond, and the job offers frequent interactions as well as presentations to senior management. Qualifications You have a Master's Degree in e.g. Business Administration, Chemistry, Engineering,
Economics, Law, Supply Chain Management or similar with great results. We imagine that you have minimum 6-8 years of relevant experience from working with e.g. procurement project management, sourcing, category management, supply chain or business development within procurement in an international organization or a consulting company. To succeed in this role, you bring a strategic and innovative mind-set and can provide hands on operational support, you have a strong sourcing toolbox, understanding of procurement to pay process as well as excellent execution skills. As you will be subjected to manage large supplier contract negotiations you must be confident to drive complex negotiations independently. You use data to drive evidence-based decision making, you complete high quality complex analyses and draw robust recommendations. You are self-driven and can create own projects and deliver results independently. You have great stakeholder management skills and can drive change management in a diverse customer landscape using your leadership skills to influence and impact key stakeholders. We expect you to be curious and have an interest in understanding the value chain in a large organisation.
