The position As our business continues to build on capacity, we require experienced negotiators to guide contractual discussions across a wide portfolio of potential and current suppliers of raw materials, finished products, devices, and contract manufacturing services. Joining a team of negotiation and contract specialists, as our (Senior) Contract Negotiator, you will be responsible for: •planning and carrying out negotiations with global suppliers. •act as a trusted business partner, counseling internal Product Supply teams to ensure that negotiations are conducted at a professional level and ensure Novo Nordisk interests remain the central focus. •formulate a clear negotiation strategy and articulate the steps to achieve the negotiation objectives, seek adequate mandate, and proactively identify solutions to contractual challenges or involvement from relevant stakeholders at all levels in the organization. •gain a sound understanding of commercial needs to adopt a pragmatic approach when consulting with internal stakeholders. •impact the supply chain value by optimizing contracts and negotiation processes while taking into consideration long-term strategies, quality, capacity and risk. •champion environmental sustainability when consulting on business requirements. Qualifications To be successful in this position you will have: •Master’s degree in Business / Commercial Law / Law or similar •Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial negotiations and a strong understanding of contractual terms and conditions. •Business partnering experience, within a matrix organization. •Proven ability to successfully source suppliers, and lead commercial negotiations and contract writing. •Fluent in both written and spoken English within a multicultural context. •Experience in evaluating contractual risks and formulating potential solutions, in partnership with relevant stakeholders. It would be considered an advantage if you have experience in the pharmaceutical, device, or life science industry. We will also consider applications from other heavily regulated sectors. The level of complexity in the role will depend on seniority and we, therefore, welcome applicants with different levels of experience. About the department Our Sourcing, Negotiation & Contract Management team is a dedicated group of 17 people with extensive experience in running tenders and negotiating high-profile contracts. We drive projects across our global organization as partners to the Category Managers and the management team in Strategic Sourcing. Strategic Sourcing is the central sourcing unit in Novo Nordisk’s Product Supply division, and we are commercially responsible for our award-winning and robust supply chain to safeguard Novo Nordisk’s worldwide pharmaceutical production. Through collaboration with our global supplier network, we ensure the availability of the supply needed to develop and produce products that help millions of people around the world to better live with chronic diseases.
