Then read on, as you may be our next Procurement Specialist responsible for the development and optimization of procurement performance within Novo Nordisk thus contributing to our efforts to turn ideas into better treatments for millions of people living with serious chronic diseases and ensuring our production. About the department Corporate Procurement is anchored within Global Solutions area which reports to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Novo Nordisk. In addition, we build strategies and execute improvement projects to optimize the global indirect spend of DKK 50 billion related to, e.g., Facility Management, R&D activities, marketing services, travel, professional advisory services, and IT. The Product Supply and Facility Management sourcing department supports the global Novo Nordisk organization. It is responsible for ensuring the supply products and services supply required to maintain our production facilities running 24/7 as well as our R&D activities. The position As Procurement Specialist/Partner, your main responsibilities will be to: Procurement Development: Develop and improve procurement capabilities within the company. Identify and develop initiatives that will result in increased procurement performance of the area. Conduct market research and analysis to identify new procurement opportunities and trends. Engage with users in the line of business to develop and quantify ideas for new projects, substitution, or value-adding activities that generate benefits and savings to the organization. Purchasing Performance and Compliance: Oversee general purchasing/sourcing performance and trends in the area and ensure high level of compliance and effective procurement processes. Develop activities to reduce maverick buying and ensure the utilization of the right sourcing channels and adherence to procurement policies and purchasing guidelines. Collaboration and Integration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure procurement activities are integrated and aligned with overall business strategy. Enable effective collaboration between purchasers/sourcing professionals and category managers. Own customer relations – actively work to secure procurement involvement in sourcing activities, turn Procurement into a trusted partner to the organization by clearly adding value and ensuring business needs are understood and met. Training and Coaching: Develop and deliver training programs to enhance procurement mindset and capabilities within the company. Coach buyers and colleagues on how to buy and source taking a proactive role in the continuous development of the department and our team. When needed drive complex sourcing projects – from ideation, scoping, e-sourcing, (e)negotiation, to contract negotiation and implementation. You will be exposed to different organizational areas throughout Novo Nordisk, and the job offers frequent interactions and presentations to senior management. Qualifications You must be an experienced procurement professional in all fields enabling you to understand and quickly identify improvement potentials within the procurement activities of the company. You must be confident to drive complex negotiations independently as well as having excellent stakeholder management and conflict resolution skills, being therefore able to steer stakeholders effectively towards the common goal of optimizing procurement activities within the company. You should be comfortable using data to drive evidence-based decision-making, complete high-quality complex analyses, and draw strong recommendations. In addition, you are self-driven and can create your own projects and deliver results independently. We also expect you to be curious and understand the value chain in a large organisation. Finally, you have excellent presentation skills and can communicate at all levels of the organisation. Further qualifications: Education and Experience: Master's Degree in, e.g. Business Administration, Chemistry, Engineering, Economics, Law, Supply Chain Management or similar with excellent results complemented with 3 years of relevant experience working with, e.g., procurement project management, sourcing, category management, supply chain, or business development. Alternatively you can possess a Bachelor Degree or equivalent complemented with 5 years of relevant experience working with, e.g., procurement project management, sourcing, category management, supply chain, or business development Skills and Knowledge: Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills, with the ability to handle difficult conversations and resolve conflicts effectively. Experience with contract management, supplier performance management, and risk management. Knowledge of procurement best practices and trends. Ability to work independently and in a team environment, with the ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues at all levels. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and procurement software. Experience in developing and delivering training programs. Strong sourcing toolbox, and understanding of Procurement to pay process, and excellent execution skills. Excellent stakeholder management skills to help drive change management in a diverse customer landscape. Personal Qualities: Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to steer stakeholders effectively towards the common goal of optimizing procurement activities within the company. Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision, with a strong drive for results and achieving goals. Strategic and innovative mindset and can provide hands-on operational support.
