Can you help build the right supply chain for LEO Pharma’s most important new product?
LEO Pharma has set an ambitious goal of becoming the world’s preferred dermatology care partner. To make this come true, we are entering into the biologics area with 100% commitment! That is why we need you and your understanding of the biotech industry. You will support building the supply chain for potentially one of the most important products in LEO Pharma’s history looking to significantly benefit the quality of life for hundreds of thousands of people around the globe.
Your job will be to ensure continued, cost effective supply from one or more externalized manufacturing site(s) in compliance with Quality requirements, including strategic planning and operational execution of the external manufacturing network. This will include involvement in building a best-in-class contract manufacturing supply chain for a new product, which is expected to be launched in 2021, ensuring that all launches are executed flawlessly and that subsequently all markets are provided with uninterrupted supply in order to achieve peak growth. This role could very well be the most impactful in your career.
Your responsibilities will include:
You must be able to plan and work across time zones. Depending on the activity, there will be approximately 20 - 25 days of travel per year.
We are looking for a profile with specific experience within the area of biologics. As such, you must bring a profound understanding of the value chain within development and production of biologics with the ability to identify risks and drive issues to resolution. You must thrive in a highly visible role where you are the one that initiates and drive things forward. This takes an open minded and positive approach and the ability to present yourself in the appropriate manner whether you are addressing top management or a junior colleague. This is more than anything else a team effort, and you can only succeed, if you think and act as a team player – and lead through fact-based influence and not through reporting lines.

You will join a small and agile supply chain team in the Biologics & External Manufacturing function based at LEO Pharma’s headquarters in Ballerup, Greater Copenhagen. We are globally responsible for development and operation of the supply chain setup related to biologics / the innovative portfolio. We work in an informal setting characterised by an open and honest dialogue, helpfulness and a common drive for changing the world for the better.

Build the setup of the future
Your job will be to ensure continued, cost effective supply from one or more externalized manufacturing site(s) in compliance with Quality requirements, including strategic planning and operational execution of the external manufacturing network. This will include involvement in building a best-in-class contract manufacturing supply chain for a new product, which is expected to be launched in 2021, ensuring that all launches are executed flawlessly and that subsequently all markets are provided with uninterrupted supply in order to achieve peak growth. This role could very well be the most impactful in your career.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Onboarding new partners and establishing operational CMO / partner structure
- Managing the relationship with contract manufacturers, ensuring continued supply of product in compliance with GMP
- Securing manufacturing capacity aligned with short and long-term demand
- Deciding on and prioritising how to address challenges and/or opportunities, based on facts and involving relevant internal and external subject matter experts
- Developing strategic and operational plans for the external manufacturing network and driving execution
- Ensuring life cycle management activities and business plans developed are in line with the manufacturing strategy, the Procurement category strategy and the priorities of the commercial organisation
- Driving and maintaining performance management via KPI’s, review meetings and evaluations of externalized operations
- Approving indirect costs with CMO’s
- Continually identifying and implementing cost reductions throughout the supply chain to improve profitability
- Overall responsibility for tech transfer in/out of the externalized network.

Solid experience across supply chain management and bio-pharmaceuticals

As such, you must bring a profound understanding of the value chain within development and production of biologics with the ability to identify risks and drive issues to resolution. You must thrive in a highly visible role where you are the one that initiates and drive things forward. This takes an open minded and positive approach and the ability to present yourself in the appropriate manner whether you are addressing top management or a junior colleague. This is more than anything else a team effort, and you can only succeed, if you think and act as a team player – and lead through fact-based influence and not through reporting lines.
Your professional CV comprises:
- Experience within the production of biopharmaceuticals (monoclonal antibodies, cell culture, purification, aseptic filling)
- CMO / alliance management experience
- A minimum of 10 years relevant experience
- A track record showing that you have the energy level needed to deliver in long term and highly complex projects.
