Would you like to be a part of developing and designing the next generation of Ambu’s Display units and overall User Experience? You will be designing the future User Experience solutions that can improve the workflow for doctors and nurses in endoscopic procedures. This is a unique opportunity to work across physical products (monitors, connectors and carts) and digital solutions (UI design) from research to final product.

We are responsible for product design, mechanical design, user experience design and user interface design of display units/monitors, connectors and carts. Our team consists of Industrial/UI/UX designers and Mechanical Engineers and is part of the Displaying Units and Systems Engineering department consisting of Hardware -, Software- and Requirements Engineers.

You have a passion for conceptualizing and designing meaningful product solutions for people in the healthcare industry (industry experience is a plus). You are great at defining the right problem and a good communicator with a well-developed sense of form, proportion, color and materials.

We hope to meet someone who:

  • Has 5-7 years of experience, with a master’s degree in Industrial design or a related design or engineering discipline
  • Possesses great visualization skills in sketching, renderings, 2D and 3D CAD
  • Has proficiency with contemporary design tools and methods
  • Is able to work well on ambiguous tasks and create a path to clarity
  • Has a flexible mindset that can pivot in case of shifting priorities
  • Is organized and can drive design management with external development partners
  • Is comfortable with facilitating workshops and confidently presenting concepts and designs to stakeholders

Your responsibilities

You understand target user needs and translate it to desirable concepts and eventual products/features for our users. Typically, you will work with:

  • Plan and conduct design research focused on product use and experience
  • Analyze and test product usability, ergonomics, and workflow with end users
  • Develop user experience scenarios and journeys integrating physical and digital interactions
  • Facilitate problem solving/ideation workshops in cross functional teams
  • Explore and develop aesthetic directions for individual products and for cross-product design systems
  • Explore and develop ideas and concepts with hand sketching, 3D CAD and mock-ups
  • Refine concept designs and collaborate with internal and external development partners and engineering teams during development
  • Explore color, materials, and finishes with samples and renderings
  • Creating, maintaining and reviewing documentation (E.g. Review of requirements, risk analysis and instructions for use, etc.)
  • Stakeholder management (E.g. Facilitate design reviews with stakeholders)
