This is who we are

At our HQ in Hedehusene, you will become part of Group Technology, counting more than 170 skilled colleagues delivering the production equipment used by our factories globally. Here, you will join our GT Cold End and Systems and Internal Logistics team of approx. 30 engineers.

Together we design and implement the production facilities the Rockwool Group needs – which currently counts approx. 30 factories worldwide. Much of our equipment and solutions are patented, and this means that we hold the know-how and competences in-house. This is only made possible by having a dedicated and skilled engineering function, which you will be a part of.

This is the role

As a mechanical design engineer, you will participate in all phases of a project, from initial specifications and design to test, commissioning and after service. Doing so, you will design and engineer the cutting section machines that are used for upgrades of existing equipment or as part of a new line.

You will be responsible for the functionality and safety of the machines, and your daily tasks and responsibilities will be to:
• Define design and user requirement specification for our in-house designed machines
• Prepare quotations, including scope and budget for future machine installations
• Prepare tender packages, including manufacturing drawings, bill of materials and instructions for purchasing
• Coordinate with the project team (project manager, electrical engineer and software engineer)
• Define design standards and best practice for future installations
• Prepare documentation, manuals, instructions
• Conduct Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) at supplier site
• Commission installations, including Site Acceptance Test (SAT) at our factories

You are highly motivated by the prospect of taking a project from early design phase to handover and aftercare. Also, you are known for your strong stakeholder management skills which span communication, planning, leadership and problem solving. Being an inquisitive soul, you are always curious about learning new things and as a true team player, you are happy to share your knowledge with your colleagues.

Moreover, you:
• Are an experienced user of 3D-CAD (we use Inventor)
• Bring experience within mechanical design of machinery
• Preferably have experience within CE marking & Machine safety
• Have a keen eye for quality and pay sharp attention to details
• Are fluent in English
