Would you like to work in a folk high school kitchen and would you like to cook sustainable and vegetarian food? Then you might be our new chef at Løgumkloster Folk High School.
At Løgumkloster Folk High School, we want good food from scratch, and therefore we are looking for a third chef to prepare our green, sustainable food. As far as possible, we use organic raw materials and work to be self-sufficient in leafy greens during the summer period.
We are in the middle of the transition to becoming largely vegetarian with a few touches of fish, so we want you, in collaboration with the other chefs, to help make our kitchen even greener and that we become even better at exploiting seasonal variation from our large Medieval garden. You must therefore have a penchant for vegetarian food and want to contribute to making it more exciting.
The kitchen has a great interface with both students and volunteers at the school, and you must therefore be good at collaborating and teaching from you, also to people who are not used to the kitchen.
In addition to great food, we cherish the friendly and positive tone in our kitchen, which should make young people want to enter kitchen professions.
The position as a chef is full-time, and you should be able to start as soon as possible or on the 27th. August 2023.. Working hours are usually on weekdays from 09:00 – 18:00 or from 10:00 to 19:00. You should expect to work one weekend a month, as we also have rentals for parties or public events. We are open during holiday periods and public holidays, so you will be part of a roster that covers all year round.
Your tasks in the kitchen inklude:
• Cooking from scratch
• Bread baking
• Cake baking
• Creative serving of buffets
• Thinking up new sustainable vegetarian dishes
• Conjuring leftovers into delicious new dishes, so we avoid food waste
• Teaching students about washing dishes, cleaning and cooking. • Serving, washing dishes and cleaning.
We offer:
• A kitchen with a good and friendly tone
• Opportunity to put your own creative touch on the direction of the kitchen
• Salary according to qualifications, pension of 17.1% and health insurance
• A great community with colleagues and students We hold interviews continuously until start-up as soon as possible.
