Reporting to the Head of Quality, Environment and Security the Marine Coordinator assists the Environmental, Regulatory and Quality Managers as well as the Security Advisors to ensure the Maersk fleet is operated in a compliant and safe manner.

Main aspects of the job are supporting daily fleet operation maintaining our administrative processes as well as carry out statutory reporting to authorities etc.

Key responsibilities


• Support the Environmental, Regulatory and Quality Manager in maintaining the management system (ISO 14001 and ISM documentation, US plan coverage, Inventory of hazardous Materials etc.)

• Support the Security Advisors in maintaining the relevant statutory documentation and certification (e.g. Ship Security Plans, Continuous Synopsis Records)

• Promote good working practices and awareness among company vessel crew members and shore personnel

• Act as a consultant towards the crew on Maersk vessels handling requests related to compliance

• Support in completion of vessel takeovers, Flag and class changes, Name changes and divestments

• Carry out statutory reporting to authorities and external parties

• Ensure certificates and licenses are renewed timely

• Optimize our administrative processes

• Support project reporting and tracking.

We are looking for


Our new colleague has likely completed an education within office or business administration.

Alternatively you have been trained in shipping or perhaps sailed as an officer.

Maybe you are already familiar with the shipping industry because you have experience from a shipping company or have worked in a classification society or you have worked with in public administration.

Most importantly you are a proficient administrator with a strong eye for details, have very good organizational and analytical skills and have a willingness to learn new things.

It will be beneficial if you are already knowledgeable of SOLAS, ISM the ISPS Code and/or ISO standard processes and its implementation.

You master:

Secure handling of MS Office packages

Good English both spoken and written

High level of initiative and teamwork as well as situation-appropriate communication behavior.
