Academic Employee (TAP-FU) to Center for Translational Neuromedicine
Division of Glial Disease and Therapeutics, Center for Translational Neuromedicine, University of Copenhagen is looking for a highly motivated Academic Employee. The position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative multi-disciplinary team engaged in neuroscience research.
Description of the Center and the research group
Our center is part of the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences of the University of Copenhagen and is located at the Panum Institute. We currently have 55 employees and students. The Center comprises newly constructed laboratories with excellent facilities for neuroscience.
The research focus of the Division of Glial Disease and Therapeutics is on the basic biology of glial cells in the central nervous system, specifically astrocytes, and their role in several neurological and neuropsychiatric diseases, including stroke, spinal cord injury, epilepsy, tremor, ALS, schizophrenia. Sleep disturbances and the sleep-wake regulation of astrocytic calcium signalling are other focus areas of the Division. Our research is aimed at defining new strategies for the treatment of neurological diseases that target astrocytic dysfunction.

Your job
You will join a multidisciplinary research team working in the field of neuroscience. The ideal candidate will possess experience in various surgical techniques and hold an EU FELASA certification. Experience with cranial window surgeries and in vivo imaging modalities is considered an advantage. A strong background in fluorescence microscopy and spectroscopy including data analysis is preferred. Experience with immunohistochemistry and confocal microscopy is highly desirable. Proficiency in using complex microscopic systems (Widefield, confocal) is also preferred.
You will be expected to contribute to and support the ongoing research projects in the group.

The position is a fixed-term position limited to a period of 24 months. The starting date is 1 September 2024.
Employment will be in accordance with the provisions of the collective agreement between the Danish Ministry of Taxation and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations). The monthly salary will be based on the number of years of work experience (seniority) with the possibility to negotiate a salary supplement based on prior experiences and qualifications. The employer will pay an additional 17.1 % to your pension fund.
