We are looking for a Director and Executive Assistant (EA) to the Senior Vice President (SVP) of Global Research Technologies (GRT) to serve as a trusted advisor, drive key strategic initiatives and ensure alignment of GRT's strategy with the rest of Research and Early Development (R&ED) and [xxxxx]. In this role, you will be a key member of the GRT Leadership Team, reporting directly to the SVP of GRT. Responsibilities
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the SVP of GRT, with sparring and support to the SVP as well as the GRT Leadership Team (LT).
  • Establish and maintain a robust network within R&ED and beyond.
  • Coordinate with the R&ED EA group on overarching R&ED strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure alignment of the GRT strategy with the rest of R&ED and other key stakeholder across [xxxxx].
  • Initiate and oversee key strategic processes within GRT.
  • Organize and lead GRT LT meetings and off-sites, including follow-up on actions.
  • Develop, advocate, and recommend strategies for the GRT SVP and prepare material tailored to various audiences, including the R&ED LT, Executive Management, and the Board of Directors.
  • Independently make decisions on business, management, and strategy matters as delegated by the SVP.
  • Qualifications
  • A graduate-level university degree (MSc, PhD), preferably in Science/Engineering.
  • Minimum five years of relevant professional experience working within strategy or project management; alternatively, a successful track record from a consulting firm, preferably having worked within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience working in a complex, interdisciplinary organization within a global context.
  • An enterprise mindset, caring for the bigger picture without losing sight of important details.
  • Demonstrated ability to tackle complex problems with creative solutions.
  • Proven ability to build long lasting partnerships and foster collaboration, facilitating dialogue with stakeholders inside and outside of [xxxxx].
  • Strong track record of creating business results with impact at senior management level.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with fluency in written and spoken English.
