Would you like to play a lead role in one of the biggest transformation projects underway in Development and across the company? Are you motivated by the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of millions of people in need of Novo Nordisk’s new life-changing treatments? Are you bold enough to go where no-one has gone before?
In Novo Nordisk we have embarked on a journey to give our patients access to new treatments faster than ever before.
18 months ago, we launched Fit4Take-off - a ‘Moonshot’ aspiration to be ready for submission of new drugs to medical authorities just 4 days after Last Patient Last Visit in clinical trials; in our 4 most important markets AND secure launch only 4 days after approval.
The Fit4Take-off programme is now a highly visible and recognised transformation programme, with a clear purpose to bring innovative treatments faster to our patients.
We have made important progress on our journey, and today the programme stands at a critical juncture – highlighted by Development leadership as being a key lever to success with our new digital ambitions, at a time of unprecedented growth for the company.
We are now searching for a new Programme Director to take Fit4Take-off into the future and ensure that our ‘Moonshot’ becomes a Moon landing.
The position
As the Programme Director for Fit4Take-Off, you will report directly to the head of the Digital Transformation unit in Submissions & Life Cycle Management in Development. While the position is anchored here, you will be working and influencing across the entire value chain, including Research & Early Development, Product Supply and Commercial.
The programme consists of six autonomous tracks, each focusing on their part of the value chain; and a programme office of talented change management, communication and business analysis colleagues. It is your role to ensure collaboration amongst the six tracks, support them in common themes, keep organisational engagement high and propel the project forward to reach its milestones. We are today engaged with multiple initiatives in collaboration with several drug projects, where the experimentation and testing of bold ideas is ongoing.
Based on existing activities, a 50% reduction in drug submission timelines towards 2024 is within reach. We are currently working on widening our testing to include Japan and China, as well as setting up a robust model for anchoring experiences into standard drug development processes. Both areas where you will have a large role to play.
Together with the engine leads, business owners and leaders of the drug projects, you will be responsible for ensuring optimal conditions for bringing forward new ideas, testing ideas and the important subsequent anchoring in the organisation.
You have a committed organisation and leadership team behind you. As you don’t have direct line management responsibility, your success relies on your ability to lead through others. Fit4Take-off contributors are placed across the organisation, so this requires excellent influencing and stakeholder management skills to build trustworthy relationships with all levels of the organisation.
This is a highly visible role with a high degree of autonomy and ample room to set your own direction for the programme towards the bold late-stage acceleration ambition.
Qualifications
You are comfortable interacting with stakeholders at different organisational levels and you have experience in working across organisational and geographical boundaries. Leading others in a project context comes naturally to you, and you use your energy and people skills to timely involve the right competencies in the right processes and carry project ideas through with success.
To succeed in this role, you have:
On a personal level, you have a high level of drive and result-orientation while being a team player. You are curious and innovative by nature and like to be challenged. You are comfortable leading an autonomous programme team, knowing how to balance managing, steering and direction setting leadership styles. Finally, you are fluent in English, both written and spoken.
