The Position
With the expansion into new therapy areas driving the need for external assets to ensure competitiveness of our pipeline in line with our corporate strategy, it is key to provide consistent analysis and understanding of the assets under evaluation towards senior management and governance.
The purpose is to enable strategic decision making by creating transparency on key variables that could influence prioritisation, inflection points, early picture of benefits/opportunities, potential overlap with current actions in the company. This role requires a strong combination of strategic, analytical, and collaborative ways of working, focusing on driving strategic portfolio management.

Qualifications
You have a Master´s degree in a relevant field combined with minimum 5 years of portfolio management experience.

You will be the first hire into the newly created Portfolio, Communication and Organisational Readiness department, with an opportunity to influence and establish best practices. About the Department
The department Development External Innovation (DEI) is newly formed in the Development EVP area. DEI supports the internalisation of external innovation covering all attributes constituting the final pharmaceutical treatment solution. The support involves: innovation, assessments, due diligence, integration, and alliance management.
Portfolio, Communication and Organisational Readiness department aims to provide support to the DEI organisation by defining the organisational strategic journey, managing pipeline activities, and ensuring organisational readiness for future assets.

The Position

Your key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Lead the creation of a one source of truth overview of external opportunities pipeline across Novo Nordisk
- Drive the strategic dialogue with stakeholders across value chain to structure portfolio activities, critical discussions, and priorities on external opportunities
- Drive the implementation of a portfolio management system that would provide visibility and facilitate strategic decision making
- Lead strategic portfolio projects across our therapy areas to facilitate long-term planning, prioritisation and forecasting of resources needed for assets analysis
- Engage in a wide range of ad-hoc project management activities, with a broad variety of interactions with key senior stakeholders across the value chain and multiple EVP/SVP areas.
Since this is a newly established position, you will have the opportunity to impact and develop the role together with the rest of the team.
Qualifications
You have a Master´s degree in a relevant field combined with minimum 5 years of portfolio management experience.
In addition, you have:
- Excellent analytical capabilities based on solid quantitative and qualitative skills (analytical, structural, and conceptual problem-solving)
- Professionally, you have acquired a strong strategic toolbox from experience at a top-tier management consulting company and/or corporate strategy department
- The ideal candidate would have relevant experience within portfolio management valuation, driving project prioritisation
- Ability to work on a strategic/conceptual level, but also getting into the details of our processes and project plans
- Proven track record in the pharmaceutical industry, with experience in collaborating across organisations and cultures and within project management
- Possesses personal drive, autonomy, self-motivating ability, positive and collaborative mind-set, outgoing and enjoys working in a busy and team-based environment
