We are looking for a new Manager to our test center that host one of the world leading facilities within testing of turbine main components.

Industrialisation & VPS Excellence Test & Verification Power Train & Module Integration Testing
The Test and Verification department within Vestas Wind Systems A/S plays an important role towards verification of components, modules, systems and turbines.

In order to optimise testing, we bring field conditions into our test centre and expose the test objects to functional, performance and reliability testing. Vestas test centres are the world leading facilities within testing of turbine main components (gearbox, generator, converter, etc.) and include several test-rigs with the capability to test components separately or as complete wind turbines up to 20MW.

In Test and Verification, we are 100+ highly motivated engineers, specialists and turbine technicians who are responsible for planning, executing and troubleshooting during test campaigns. Furthermore, our team is responsible for specifying and building up new test capabilities to continually ensure that Vestas products have the highest quality in the wind market.

Responsibilities
You will be the Manager of our test technician department with approx. 15-20 direct reports. This includes following responsibilities:

  • Resource planning according to project portfolio
  • Realising the department's goals and actions including budget responsibility for own cost centre
  • Implementing and anchoring the improvement decisions and translating them into an operational performance of tasks
  • Safety management
  • Organisation of purchase and stock handling
  • Part of strategical work of Test Centre department and setting targets
  • Responsible for Investments & facility operation same Support new investments in test equipment

Qualifications

  • Master or bachelor's degree e.g. mechanical/electrical engineering
  • Experienced in management of operational employees including concepts as change management and situational leadership is an advantage
  • Experience with controlling department budget
  • Experience with navigating in a complex, international company
  • Experience with communication at different levels and cultures
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, SAP and MSP

  • Solid communication skills and good interpersonal skills, so one successful can communicate with various stakeholders across the organisation
