Global Procurement Supplier QSE and Development Risk, Compliance & Sustainability
Vestas Global Procurement is responsible for all procurement activities within Vestas, including leading cross-functional commodity teams, negotiations and contract management, development of end-to-end cost out initiatives, commodity strategy development, and supplier relationship management.

Responsibilities
As Sustainability Specialist in the Risk, Compliance & Sustainability department, you will be part of a cross-functional team responsible for the implementation of Vestas Sustainability Strategy in Global Procurement. This includes propelling the change both in Vestas and at its suppliers by implementing concrete sustainability enhancing activities. Primary responsibilities will be to:

  • Act as the sustainability (environment and social) subject matter expert in Global Procurement and lead Vestas’s global Sustainability Strategy implementation in Global Procurement and towards suppliers
  • Together with internal stakeholders identify which activities need to be done in the supply chain to ensure that we reach our global sustainability goals
  • Create a sustainability roadmap in Global Procurement stating the roles and responsibilities and timeline of activities
  • Setting objectives, targets and promote the implementation of action plans towards suppliers
  • Prep and inform Supplier Account Managers on which activities their specific suppliers need to undertake and how
  • Host Supplier Account Managers sustainability training sessions
  • Be the Supplier Account Managers go-to-person on environmental and social sustainability issues and host knowledge sharing sessions with suppliers and customers
  • Represent the company in external associations and networks with a focus on sustainability in procurement/supply chain


Qualifications

  • Relevant master's degree within supply chain, procurement, business administration or similar, preferably with a sustainability experience
  • Hands-on experience with driving sustainability initiatives in a procurement department is a plus
  • Experience with complex supply chain processes
  • Experience in coordinating the work of informal and remote teams
  • Holistic and encompassing knowledge of sustainability in procurement on issues such as human rights, labour rights, material compliance and code of conduct
  • Fluent in English, both verbally and in writing

Additional information
Your primary work location will be at our office in Aarhus N, Denmark.

Approximately 20 days of traveling per year must be expected.
