Power Solutions Aerodynamic & Mechanical Tower Technical Management
Tower Module in Vestas Power Solutions is developing and maintaining the complete Vestas tower program. The tasks range from structural engineering over highly specialized FEM calculations, requirement management, design risk assessment, test planning and project execution and creation of certification documentation.
Tower Technical Management is a cross-functional department in the Tower Module. The department is accountable for the final approval of complete module requirements, technical quality, risks and solutions across the value chain and across the tower sub-modules. The team will liaise with the product function on module requirement analysis, needed performance steps and drive feasibility studies.
Focus is on securing cross-functional alignment across tower sub-module and across the full value chain from procurement, manufacturing to transport, installation and service.
The tower module team is located in Aarhus, Denmark, Porto, Portugal and in Chennai, India. The technical management team consists of 6 highly skilled specialists who work across the three hubs with people in different geographical locations.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Specialist, Civil Works & Concrete Structures you will report to the Module Design Owner. Your primary responsibility will be 1) technical accountability for civil works; and 2) close collaboration with the sub-module owners. In greater detail your area of responsibilities will be:

- Translate the tower module strategy into a roadmap for the civil works area
- Drive the development of the strategy for civil works including foundation interface, foundations and towers
- Define design requirements and participate in requirement analysis and feasibility studies for the foundation and tower foundation interface
- Participate in sign-off at Peer- and Technical reviews on technical solutions, risks, and cost
- Drive competitor benchmark to ensure Vestas is offering innovative solutions
- Drive the development of the civil works area by identifying strategic and technical opportunities
- Work in a network of suppliers, customers, product management, sales, construction as well as universities
- Interact with suppliers and align the market requirements
Qualifications
The ideal candidate has the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Knowledge of full design life cycle, from a product’s scope of requirements to the end of life
- Extensive experience with design and value chain processes related to civil works such as foundations and concrete structures
- Proven technical experience and an ability to balance technical solutions with business value
- Knowledge of risk management possibly through DFMEA and PFMEA
- Wind turbine experience is beneficial, however, similar experience from construction and engineering companies - or other mast/chimney structures - are also considerable
