About the department

As Head of our Talent Development & Strategic Workforce Planning unit, you will report directly to our Executive Vice President of People & Organisation in Novo Nordisk. You will lead a global organisation of approximately 40 highly professional and engaged leaders and employees, divided into four departments. The position as head of the unit is based in Copenhagen, whereas many employees are/can be in other locations/countries. The unit supports our three Global P&O priorities of being an inclusive and diverse organisation, a talent incubator and an employer for the future.

The position

As Head of Talent Development & Strategic Workforce Planning, you drive the Novo Nordisk philosophy, strategies, thought leadership and standards within Talent Development and Strategic Workforce planning. You and your team develop initiatives and programmes to support the strategic P&O priorities of Novo Nordisk and provide support and guidance to our Executive Vice President of P&O. Across your responsibilities you will work closely with colleagues from our Diversity & Inclusion, Talent Acquisition, Talent Succession and Culture and Rewards teams as well as our global HR Business Partners.

Responsibilities include all internal programmes including leadership & management development, talent programmes, functional academies and curriculums, capability frameworks, channels including digital, Core capabilities mapping and building, leadership team effectiveness interventions and overall responsibility for the Managed learning service provider to deliver 3rd party programmes efficiently and effectively across all corners of the Company. You will be responsible for the quality, service levels, and cost optimisation.

You will be a member of our Global P&O Management team and thereby be accountable also for the broader P&O agenda in Novo Nordisk.

Qualifications

You have a bachelor’s degree or higher in human resources, business or other relevant degrees; and you have 10+years of practical and leadership experience working within Human Resources. You have demonstrated ability to lead global teams and lead through others.

You have in depth experience in engaging with and managing diverse stakeholder groups with different cultural background and different seniority levels. You have global mindset, handle challenges and changes well, and manage to bridge divergent perspectives. You are a strong communicator with a high level of energy and the ability to handle many different priorities at the same time. You are a strong leader who set direction, engage, inspire and develop your people. You are fluent in both written and spoken English at a professional level.
