Welcome to GN Audio – home of Jabra
At GN Audio in Ballerup, you will join the Global Hardware Engineering team alongside colleagues in Denmark, China and US who are responsible for all hardware-related design aspects of development projects. We are a part of the Jabra brand and dedicated to developing and designing state-of-the-art Jabra headsets, speakerphones and other hands-free audio solutions that make life sound better.
We are a high-performing, very experienced and professional team experiencing rapid growth, and by the end of the year, we will be more than 60 dedicated team members globally. In Ballerup, where you will be based, we are currently 27 people working on hardware elements like electronic designs, schematic design, PCB layout and RF engineering, such as antenna and radio systems design.
A very cross-functional role with a wide network
As our new senior component engineer, you will be working very closely with our existing component engineer – and together, you will be in charge of interacting with suppliers, keeping the team up to date on new component technologies and supplier road maps as well as supporting the team with input on application design solutions across projects.
Maybe you will suggest a new kind of coil or integrated circuit, and in this case, participate in meetings with the purchase department on technical sourcing recruitments and critical parameters for qualification. You are a critical interface in matters of component shortages where you will play a major role in identifying alternative options and solutions to be driven through our qualification process across the team.
Consequently, you will be the link between Purchase, Sourcing, our current and potential suppliers and all your colleagues in Hardware. Specifically, you will be:

Electronics engineer with a good supplier network and developer experience
With your solid electronics engineering experience, you already have a great network in the industry as well as a feeling for what goes on in the field. Furthermore, you have worked as a developer for a considerable part of your career, so that you are well versed in that area and understand that side of a product.
Given the wide range of tasks of the role, a holistic understanding of our projects is needed, so that all aspects are taken into consideration, both the commercial, technical, developmental and financial.

- Acting as the technical responsible person in Chipsets and Electronics Commodity groups
- Acting as the interface to Global Sourcing, Operations as well as the primary technical contact person towards component manufacturers and Reps (requirements lead)
- Providing information to engineers on new technology and parts (application design guidance)
- Maintaining overview charts for selected technologies, e.g. ANC ICs, Memories
- Advising engineers globally in selection of components for new projects
- Promoting relevant existing parts or suggest new parts in line with PML
- Creating and maintaining new parts in ERP System (Agile PLM) and ties to Design System (Orcad)
- Locating and promoting multi-sourcing where possible
- Revising products and components, as well as any related documentation
- Qualifying alternate components in collaboration with Sustained Engineering

- Have a proven track record and 5+ years of experience within the field of engineering – perhaps you are specialized within telecom
- Speak and write English at a professional level
- Have a good and wide supplier network
