Welcome to GN Hearing’s Mechanical line of R&D. We are a big group of more than 20 passionate Mechanical Engineers, who enjoy everything from bouncing ideas of each other, thinking of new concepts, trying out new materials and making great designs for manufacturing.
Ownership of product from concept to manufacturing
We don’t consider ourselves to be a typical Mechanical Engineering team. We believe that we are outstanding in the way that we have access to state-of-the-art test and sound labs and that we are part of a “360 degrees” development process following the product from idea to manufacturing and even learning how the product performs on the market to ensure continuous improvement if needed.
The customer feedback is essential for us, and we are proud of our efficiency and the fact that we are part of launching patient-centric new products on a regular basis. Products like the recent ReSound One. Our team also has a global scope as we have R&D colleagues in Xiamen, China, who are helpful sparring partners to our projects, while they also own their own projects.
Your tasks and collaborators
In this role we expect you to take the lead on the mechanical aspects of delivering into the projects. Teaming up with 1-3 other mechanical engineers you spearhead the collaboration with our electronic and electroacoustic colleagues and ensure that the parts we deliver are compatible and fit into the greater scheme of the product. - Materials and biosafety
- Regulatory & compliance
- Early concept projects

- Designing small and precise components in plastics, rubber, alloys and more
- Tolerance chains, product quality tests, material selection etc
- Making good decision foundation for mechanical direction in the projects
- Sparring and sharing tips & tricks with team members
- Documentation according to standards
- Setting requirements
