A new strategic role in the pivotal global Medical Affairs (GMA) function

Medical Affairs at LEO Pharma is going through a globalization and transformation journey and the position holder will have an opportunity to shape this journey.
In Global Medical Affairs you will get the opportunity to make a significant difference for people with serious skin diseases all over the world.
The job
This is a highly strategic role in LEO Pharma with opportunities to develop medical affairs teams, capabilities, processes, setting directions, build/capitalize on the synergies between markets in Region International & Thrombosis Business Unit (“the region”), and to influence business decisions from a regional perspective.
- Drive the implementation of Medical Affairs excellence initiatives in the region
- Coordinate regional input into global strategies and work collaboratively to ensure alignment of local and global medical affairs plans
- Drive adoption of Global Medical Affairs processes with compliance and quality
- Drive efficiencies and identify opportunities to share best/worst practices in the region
- Set direction and oversee personal goal setting and performance review in local medical teams
- Identify talent within the region and advance and retain their capabilities within LEO Pharma
- Ensure compliant medical-marketing collaborations and activities across the region
Your qualifications
- Medical Director with 10+ years of medical affairs/clinical development experience and leadership roles in the pharmaceutical industry, including Global and Regional/Affiliate experience
- Experience in dermatology, including biologics
- Good understanding of commercial imperatives, with specific hands-on experience of product launch(es) and marketed products
- A successful track-record of building and leading high-performing teams to achieve defined objectives
- Experience building and managing strong collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- English proficiency at business level, both verbal and written
The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal and intercultural skills, with the ability to set clear and challenging goals to improve performance, and drive results. He/she will be a leader with a high degree of integrity, able to operate in a cross-functional environment, while always considering what is best for the LEO Pharma organization.
Your new team
As a member of the Global Medical Affairs Leadership Team, you will represent the needs and bring relevant insights from the Region International affiliates and Thrombosis Business Unit to shape the strategic initiatives of the GMA teams. You will also be a member of the Region International & Thrombosis Leadership Team, representing the medical affairs function within the region, and able to articulate the global medical direction and the scientific narrative of the key products at an appropriate level.
