Join the Oxfam IBIS Education Out Loud Team

Oxfam IBIS is the Grant Manager of the Education Out Loud (EOL) fund established by the Global Partnership for Education (GPE). GPE’s aim is to strengthen national education systems to deliver stronger outcomes in the areas of learning and early childhood development, equity, gender equality, and inclusion. With an overall funding envelope of US$55.5 million, Education Out Loud is the biggest education advocacy fund in the world available for civil society supporting practices to strengthen transparency, accountability, and civic participation in education.
The EOL fund comprises three funding streams (Operational Components) to support work at local, national and transnational levels to (1) strengthen national civil society engagement in education planning, policy dialogue and monitoring; (2) strengthen civil society roles in promoting the transparency and accountability of national education sector policy and implementation and (3) create a stronger global and transnational enabling environment for national civil society advocacy and transparency efforts. Together, these objectives will help to amplify the voices of people in education policy debates, helping to better match citizen demand for an equitable quality education with responsive public policy solutions. During its current cycle 2019-24 EOL expect to support up to 80 civil society partners in 60+ countries throughout the world, including Africa, Asia, Pacific, Latin America and MENA/Eastern Europe.
Oxfam IBIS’ Grant Agent role is implemented primarily through a Global Management Unit (GMU) based in Copenhagen, and four Regional Management Units (RMUs) in Africa, Asia and Latin America. As Student Assistant you will become part of the Global Management Unit (GMU).

As Student Assistant you will have some of the following functions:
  1. Provide support in collecting education policy related information from the countries and partners that we work with
  2. Systematize contact and other information about EOL grants
  3. Responding to e-mails from EOL applicants
  4. Support communication efforts including website maintenance and development, writing articles and supporting EOL´s grantees´ contributions to the website.
  5. Contribute with relevant knowledge and analysis
  6. Develop presentations and information papers
  7. Provide logistical, communication and administration support
  8. Provide support to setting up webinars and expert meetings with external collaborators, manage excel data bases and help making excel pivot tables, setting up Teams meetings in Teams, etc.
  9. Open and Maintain list of EOL projects and colleagues´ emails/roles updated in PCMS (Project Cycle Management System); help overseeing that GMU/RMU colleagues upload their documents in PCMS; Guide GMU colleagues on where to store documents in EOL Parent Project in PCMS
  10. Open Call for proposals in Grant Application System, upload templates, assign screeners in the system, provide support to GISP meetings.

The position will be for up to 15-20 hours/week with flexibility regarding actual working days allowing for class attendance, exam dates etc.
We are looking for a candidate to take up the position soonest possible.

Qualifications:
The right candidate:
  • Is undertaking a relevant higher education, preferably having completed or in the end of the undergraduate degree with a few years left of study.
  • Has strong analytical and IT-skills. Good excel skills, including excel pivots, is a must. Knowledge to Sharepoint and Teams is an advantage.
  • Has broad competencies and enjoys being involved in different types of tasks.
  • Has skills and experience in documentation and written communication
  • Is fluent in English. Knowledge of French, Spanish, Portuguese or Arabic would be an advantage.
  • Is energetic, curious and able to work independently and as part of a team
