Key responsibilities


The purpose of this role is to lead 2 to 3 engineering squads in designing, configuring and implementing technology enablers products and services. Our customers are our internal product teams in Maersk technology. We want to enable them to focus more on their domain specific problems and less on the technology infrastructure layer.

Key Responsibilities
• Work closely with Platform Product Owner to understand the enablers technology needs across product portfolios, spar with the Platform Architect to refine solution designs and spar with the Scrum Master to enable our agile delivery

• Work with other Engineering Managers to drive platform and technology strategy to truly enable DevOps, target continuous release and reuse other enablers

• Responsible for defining the agile development methodology, ensuring adoption across the engineering squads

• Stay on top of development activities across multiple enabler products while driving engineering and delivery excellence through metrics and real-time dashboards

• Lead 2 to 3 squads of highly motivated engineers towards building and delivering the right enablers that support the needs of our product teams allowing them to deliver business value faster

• Accountable for the product specific development, construction, test and maintenance of delivered enabler products and services

We are looking for


• Should have total IT experience of 10-12 years, which includes at least 5 years in application and data integration space.
• Demonstrated hands-on engineering experience in several of the following:
o Programming languages – Java, Python
o Stream processing – Kafka, Kafka Connect, ksqlDB or similar
o Database products – MS SQL, Cassandra DB, PostgreSQL DB, Mongo DB or similar
o API Management / API Gateways products – Apigee or similar
o CI/CD products – GitOps Actions, Azure DevOps or similar
o Automation languages – Terraform, Ansible, shell scripting
o Containers – Docker, Kubernetes or similar
• Familiarity with one or more leading Cloud providers (Azure preferred, Google)
• Drive an ownership mentality in a DEVSECOPS way of working, best practices and Maersk strategic direction
• Hands on Experience in analysing major incidents, system recovery, RCA’s, performance tuning and implementing automated, scalable modernized solutions
• Deep understanding and working knowledge of building high-availability, fault-tolerant, resilient and scalable solutions and has implemented patterns around these
• Skilled stakeholders and people manager with the ability to communicate complex messages and servant leadership approach
• Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and training employees followed by continuous development of capabilities. Develop and nurture technical talent
• Demonstrated excellence in verbal and written communication. Ability to communicate effectively with business leaders and technical experts at all organizational levels
