Key responsibilities


• Strategically integrate and drive the Social & Governance agenda within Procurement framework to minimise Social impact in our global supply chain. Working in close collaboration with Social Responsibility (SR) Leadership Team
• Be the subject matter focal point within Procurement for Social topics, catering to global Procurement categories. Work with global stakeholders to mobilize technical support to enhance the social sustainability of operations, adding value to operations, including through external expertise where deemed necessary
• Develop and drive Procurement-centric Social & Governance roadmap to deliver on overall Maersk’s ESG ambitions, in collaboration with internal global stakeholders across Social & Governance, Fleet Management & Technology, HSSE functions
• Provide strategic and tangible insights & plan for Procurement Category Managers to integrate Social & Governance topics into Category ESG strategy/plans
• Support Category Managers / Sourcing Managers on key supplier engagement and development dialogues on Social & Governance, including evaluating social attributes/specifications for various products and services that are procured
• Support in developing category/supplier level metrics and targets on Social topics and enable internal and external reporting on such metrics/targets as relevant
• Enhance Procurement organisation’s awareness and knowledge on Social topics. Drive sessions/workshops to provide topic clarity to the stakeholders/cross-functional teams. Develop FAQ / SOP for respective category and guide the categories for the Social Agenda enablement
• Establishing and driving the key programming and impactful strategic partnerships required to deliver Maersk’s social impact and sustainability strategy. This might include leading an in-depth planning session and drafting reports and other materials that summarize initiative strategic plans.
• Bring in relevant insights and external inspiration within social impact and partnership agenda to help shape our strategic questions, choices, programs and activities
• Translate the organisation Social targets to SMART Procurement Metrics to ensure supplier compliance.
• Leverage Maersk initiatives, tools and partners to strengthen scale and impact of Maersk’s sustainability agenda
• Drive process to select, set up and lead selective shared global partnerships of the group including any campaign, program or product collaborations

We are looking for


The ideal candidate will have at least 10+ years of applicable work experience, ideally in an international environment, as a sustainability professional with experience in Social and Human Rights.

Other key skills:

• Solid understanding of Social & Governance concepts and frameworks.

• Experience in logistics and supply chain industry is preferable

• Experience in Project Management skills

• Ability to own and drive initiatives independently with attention to detail and be result oriented

• Ability to manage complex stakeholder landscape and influence key stakeholders at multiple levels

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to translate strategic insights into tangible and actionable plans

• Excellent communication and presentation skills and written and oral proficiency in English. Additional languages are a plus.

• Understanding of Procurement and Sourcing Concepts is highly preferred

• Experience with the UN Guiding Principles for Business and Human Rights and the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises, and experience working with labour, human rights and/or community issues in a business setting will be considered an advantage.
