The Third Party Manager will play a pivotal role in running Maersk’s compliance third party management, mainly focusing on integrity risks such as anti-corruption, sanctions and human rights. Next to the compliance third party platform owner, you will be the second resource based in Copenhagen to solely focus on third party due diligence case handling, thereby enabling our business to contract with required third parties in an ethical manner protecting Maersk from third party-related risks.

It is our mission to enable subject matter expert teams to operationalise compliance requirements and deliver aligned, scalable and business-friendly solutions using tools, technology and analytics to drive effective compliance management.
The Third Party Manager operates in a challenging environment, characterized by constant change, in particular as Maersk is pursuing its strategic roadmap. You will need to be able to effectively work with business stakeholders and screen third parties that shall support Maersk in a broad variety of tasks. Therefore, the role requires an ability to manage various cases simultaneously while working with high accuracy in each individual case.
While this role is fully dedicated to end-to-end due diligence case handling, longer term it can be seen as a great starting point for a career in Maersk, e.g. in the wider Compliance space.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Independently handle end-to-end third party cases of all risk levels in the context of integrity due diligence activities focusing on risks such as anti-corruption, sanctions and human rights.
• Obtain and review from the business the necessary information and documentation pertaining to the understanding of the services, nature of business and relationship etc. and ensure all documentation is saved in the Third Party Management Portal
• Order and analyse due diligence reports by external vendors and report on red flags
• Liaise with the regional compliance managers and other stakeholders regarding third parties and related risks, when needed
• Align with the TPM platform owner and the regional compliance managers on mitigating actions and prepare compliance recommendations
• Effectuate monitoring of approved third parties and initiate remedies/mitigations as required
• Prepare compliance memos with recommendations, when needed
• Liaise with relevant stakeholders, build and maintain long-term working relationships
• Become a trusted partner for the business and subject matter expert teams
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE
• Excellent English skills; further language skills would be an asset
• Minimum 3-4 years of experience in handling due diligence cases and proposal of relevant recommendations; specific experience from the logistics space would be an asset
• Experience in drafting compliance memos with recommendations
• Good understanding of red flags and risks related to third parties, including in the context of different cultures and geographies
• Experience in reviewing external due diligence reports and an ability to translate findings into pragmatic business advice along with the design of relevant mitigating measures
• High degree of independence in running end-to-end third party due diligence cases, including effective communication with business stakeholders
• Collaborative work style which fosters cooperation and teamwork
• Exceptional time management to manage multiple cases, including priorities
• Ability to exercise discretion and good judgment
• Ability to understand the effect of decisions overall in the company
• High level of stakeholder management and coordination
• Proactive and eager to learn, able to handle multiple third party due diligence cases simultaneously
• Deadline focused, reliable and a keen eye for details
• Team player who is willing to grow in a complex organization
• Open-minded and likes to work in a diverse, international environment
• High integrity and personal ethics, professional in communication, ability to handle confidential information and sensitive situations
