We have an exciting and unique opportunity for a seasoned HSSE Leader to be part of the radical transformation of Maersk into the Global Integrator as we rapidly expand our landside logistics footprint and capabilities. The Head of Safety and Resilience Ocean & Logistics is responsible for developing and executing the strategy for continuous improvement of Health, Safety, Security, Environment and Business Resilience across the landside operations of Ocean & Logistics.
Responsibilities
- Lead a global team of functional experts spanning Health, Safety, Security, Environment, and Business Resilience.
- Maintain and develop structure and operating system that enables continuous identification and management of risk, protecting people from serious harm, while securing our customers’ cargo and supply chains.
- Ensure strong cohesion between business and functional needs and objectives by building effective working relationships with key stakeholders and ensuring continuous alignment of activities and priorities.
- Ensure suitable standards are set and implemented globally that will protect people and protect our customer’s supply chains under our care, while taking into account needed regional or country variations for example due to legislation.
- In collaboration with other teams, provide the needed tools and guidance to employees that will reduce or eliminate risks at the frontline.
- In collaboration with other teams, provide assurance at relevant levels to ensure expected standards are being met, and ensure there are actions taken to address the gaps.
- Ensure the teams within scope are suitably qualified and have the needed skills and training, while continuously improving their competence levels in close collaboration with our People Function
- Engage and inspire teams globally, both those under direct and indirect line management to collaboratively lift the standards across our operations
- Create a culture of care and inclusion, where diverse voices are heard and where people feel safe to speak up
- Collaborate with other Safety & Resilience leaders across APMM to share and build knowledge and expertise, routinely and constructively challenging the status quo to lift the bar higher across APMM
- Stay connected to industry trends and regularly seek external knowledge and inspiration, to spark innovation and creativity in finding new and better ways of doing things
- Proactively engage in dialogue with executive leaders, supporting them in their critical roles
- Get involved in relevant projects and tasks being part of the Global Safety & Resilience Leadership Team
What you bring
- Minimum 15 years of proven track record being involved in areas related to HSSE (Health, Safety, Security, and Environment) and preferably also having experience in the field of Business Resilience (Business Continuity Management and Crisis Management)
- Proven track record in large global organizations, with a strong preference for experience in logistics related business and organizations
- University degree in fields of study associated with a role (Health & Safety, Security, Risk, Crisis, etc.) or equivalent is desirable
- Collaborative and able to connect and create followership across a wide variety of stakeholders across different geographies and levels
- Confident and able to articulate well including toward C-suite level executives
- English level of minimum 13 – EF or equivalent
