Identify projects within GBS, and those outside that will have an impact on GBS
As the Program Director, you will be responsible for identifying projects within GBS, as well as those outside GBS which have an impact on GBS and/or require involvement and resources from us (e.g. IT projects). You will put together a portfolio of work, prioritizing and coordinating projects. The Program Director ensures that projects are well-chosen, prioritized and aligned to the GBS strategy. You would also be responsible for driving and facilitating best practice project management across GBS.

The main focus in 2021 is on managing resources, milestones, risks and issues in terms of GBS consolidation and process excellence projects. The future will also see the onboarding of new services onto the GBS platform.

Adding to this, you will:

  • Engage with and conduct regular reviews with GBS leadership, senior business executives, IT, stakeholder committees and other relevant bodies to validate and assess the project portfolio, execute change, and reprioritize to meet business needs as required
  • Ensure the oversight and coordination of dependencies across the projects and programs in the portfolio and resolve or escalate conflicts
  • Lead reviews of any significant initiatives, projects or programs that are challenged and provide recommendations as to whether it should continue, be significantly changed, placed on hold or discontinued
  • Direct the development and maintenance of communications and reporting around the project portfolios, their contents and the individual performance of initiatives to stakeholders, the respective steering committee, and senior executives
  • Work with project teams to manage/oversee the full range of the project life cycle (initiate, plan, execute, close)
  • Identify staffing needs. As mandated and resourced by leadership, ensure and balance the availability of the required skills and competencies across project and program teams within the project portfolio
  • Establish and manage a small team of project managers
  • Guide the change and communications agenda, in close co-operation with the SVP GBS. You would ensure change and communication requirements are aligned with and in full support of the GBS strategy and program execution.

Experienced Program professional having delivered large programs within GBS/SSC
We hope to see that you have and can demonstrate:

  • Experience of delivering large programs or projects, ideally within a GBS/SSC setting, or within a transformation program.
  • Strong knowledge of, and experience with Agile implementation methodology
  • Strong leadership experience across major projects and programs
  • Good understanding of automation opportunities / process excellence tools
  • Project and change management skills

Your new team
This position forms part of the Global Business Services (GBS) organization, reporting to the SVP GBS. GBS will manage delivery of transactional as well as knowledge-centric services through Service Delivery Centers (SDC) and dedicated Centers of Excellence (CoE) with the initial headcount of 250+ FTEs globally. The GBS team is transforming these services, underpinned by process excellence and automation.

In this role, you will also collaborate closely with the CFO Area Transformation Office, IT, Business Owners and various senior stakeholders across the organization.
