DTU Learn for Life


DTU Learn for Life is the cross-university centre coordinating, developing, and running executive and continuing education programs at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) at the Lyngby Campus.

The centre is a central focal point for a new strategic investment in relation to executive and continuing education and lifelong learning. DTU Learn for Life is DTU's platform for all forms of future management education and specialized continuing education based on technology, sustainability, and innovation. A showcase for DTU's teaching and research, which reaches out widely to business, authorities, and organizations both in Denmark and in the world.

At DTU Learn for Life, we promote and run programs for employees, specialists, leaders, directors, and C-levels to drive change in their companies and organizations as well as in society as a whole. We want to deliver world class executive and continuing education to the business world as well as to private and public organizations.

Development, planning and operations


How do we develop and administer existing and future executive programmes? How can we ensure smooth operations in each programme with a high level of customer satisfaction from students and participants? How do we further develop cooperations with private and public companies and organizations? How do we work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth and professional operations that complies with internal processes and external regulators and accreditation panels?

These are some of the central questions that you as Head of Executive Education will find the right answers for – with good help from your team and the rest of DTU Learn for Life.

Responsibilities


The Head of Executive Education is responsible for all relevant stakeholder management and results regarding the Executive programmes; including program development, hiring and retaining faculty, collaboration with the Heads of Studies, hiring and managing team staff, dialog with curriculum committee, industry board, and alumni board, as well as with related departments at DTU and partner organizations. This also includes contact and collaboration with corporate and public companies.

The Head of Executive Education is responsible for administrative and financial results of the Executive programmes. The goal is to ensure that every cohort in all Executive programs is delivered and completed successfully and adds the highest possible value to the organization.

Essential functions


  • Initiating and setting goals for programmes according to the strategic objectives
  • Secure continued development of current and new programmes together with Heads of Studies and Programme Directors
  • Developing strong faculty relationships and encouraging faculty involvement in the program development
  • Leading, managing and mentoring the programme teams to ensure smooth operations throughout the annual circle
  • Managing programme budgets and operations
  • Developing collaboration with private and public companies and organizations
  • Working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth and professional operations
  • Keeping senior management informed with detailed and accurate reports
  • Building the brand of the DTU Executive Programs, amongst corporations, DTU alumni and professional networks

With direct reference to the Director of Centre at DTU Learn for Life, you will head the Executive Education section and be part of the management team at the centre.

A leader profile with business and education experience


We are looking for an experienced leader profile with a masters’ degree-level education, preferably an Executive degree, and a strong business background. You may also have a track record within business education or higher education.

As a person, you have an innovative and commercial mindset, and you embrace growth. You are strategic, good at networking internally in the DTU organization and as well as externally with customers and stakeholders, and you have good communication skills in both English and Danish.

As a leader, you are authentic and have excellent organizational and leadership skills. You display a positive attitude for collaboration and teamwork within your team. Managing programme budgets and operations are well developed skills.

Salary and terms of employment


Terms of appointment and payment according to the Agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and the Danish Federation of Professional Associations (AC) or any other relevant agreement.
