Head of Business Information Security Office (BISO), Nordea Asset Management, Copenhagen
The Business Information Security Office (BISO) function within Nordea Asset Management (NAM) is responsible for information security control enforcement, cybersecurity awareness, and enablement across all lines of business, enterprise functions, technology, and operations teams. The BISO team also leads cybersecurity external engagement and cooperates closely with the Chief Information Security Office (CISO) function in Nordea.

NAM has embarked on a journey of becoming a separately operating unit from the rest of Nordea, which involves transformation and organizational development in many functional areas, including Information Security.

The future ambition of NAM is to establish own Information and Cybersecurity Framework that has appropriate links to the Nordea Information Security Framework, but that is better aligned with the business needs and operating model of NAM organization.

In the future horizon, it is planned to transform this position into the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) position within NAM organization, which is the Senior Executive position providing the strategic and operational leadership for NAM cyber security and technology risk management programs. In this critical role, the CISO will be responsible for the development and implementation of the enterprise cyber security framework, policies, standards, programs and strategic plans to achieve a high degree of security program excellence.

The Head of NAM BISO function will be the main driver and facilitator of this ongoing transformation journey to bring the Information and Cybersecurity in NAM to the next level.

Your future responsibilities


You will be a key player in defining and shaping NAM Information and Cybersecurity Framework by setting the future strategic direction for NAM in respect of information security protection goals, objectives and metrics consistent with the business strategy and in the context of current and future trends, threats, incidents and compliance requirements (ext. and int.) relevant for the NAM organization.

You will be responsible for having a consolidated view on Cybersecurity and Technology Risks for NAM, as well as practical implementation and maintenance of Information Security Management System, that includes but not limited to: Policies, Guidelines, Routines and KPI dashboards.

Advisory and Communication:

  • Guide managers and technologists of NAM on information security principles/architecture, secure design and incident response, proactively addressing the needs of the stakeholders in order to consistently meet or exceed defined levels of security;
  • Ensure that information security requirements are understood within the organization by establishing and communicating clear guidelines through relevant channels;
  • Lead compliance activities to ensure that internal audit, legal and regulatory requirements are met and conformed to;
  • Act as the main contact point for information security incidents.

Coordination and Management

  • Lead and manage the BISO function and daily activities across all NAM entities;
  • Lead implementation of security requirements in applications such as internet-facing (Cloud) applications as well as core business applications;
  • Participate in internal and external activities concerning information security architecture and assess third parties supporting core AM activities;
  • Coordinate and facilitate internal work related to Business Continuity Management and planning in NAM;
  • Coordinate and lead relevant initiatives and projects in close cooperation with stakeholders from the CISO function in Nordea.

Strategy and Organization

  • Set strategic direction for and drive development of NAM Information and Cybersecurity Framework and a future CISO function within NAM;
  • Organizational and people development.

Your profile and background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Previous work experience with Information Security work e.g. as a CISO
  • 10+ years of relevant professional experience required, with proven knowledge of security architecture design, network security, mobile security, vulnerability management, and threat intelligence/analysis
  • Deep knowledge of security policies, regulations, and compliance issues.
  • Strong ability to translate complex IT and security challenges and issues into business risks
  • Willingness to travel (limited travel involved)
  • Relevant Security certifications (CISSP, SANS, etc.)
  • Expert knowledge of common information security management frameworks, such as ISO 27001, COBIT or NIST
