Vestas CEO Manufacturing & Global Procurement PEX - Operation Excellence
(BLeC) Blade Launch and execution tooling department is accountable for the development of manufacturing processes and tooling for the blades production in Vestas including documentation of the same. BleC is accountable to take all the engineering work and ensure this work can be brought together building blades with high focus on safety being our 1st priority.
The Tooling department is responsible for the development of new tools both manufacturing tools and quality measurement tools.
The wind industry is a very dynamic business hence the director is able to constantly adjust and develop new ways of working securing continuously aligning the tooling strategy to ensure Vestas continues to stay competitive.
Responsibilities
The director is responsible for developing and updating the tooling strategy, constantly optimising ways of working internally in BleC Tooling and as well as being part of BleC management team - but also optimising collaboration with Vestas factories, VPS and external suppliers.

Responsibilities
The director is responsible for developing and updating the tooling strategy, constantly optimising ways of working internally in BleC Tooling and as well as being part of BleC management team - but also optimising collaboration with Vestas factories, VPS and external suppliers.
Some of the typical responsibilities involve:
- Describe and define tooling strategy that deliver safe and cost-efficient tools. Delivering tools according to projects plans
- Ability to lead the team through rapid solution situations when problems are found during EMR builds and working to ensure the program is maintained
- Active part of project planning for tools deliverables
- Maintaining an efficient tooling organisation
- Leading through managers
- Ensure all employee are trained and have the required competences
- Ensure that deliveries serve Vestas the best
- Set KPI and driving strategy deployment with a systematic follow-up
Qualifications
- You will be an experienced leader having at least 10 years' of experience and the majority of your experience will be from production or manufacturing, covering experience in engineering positions, factory production and tooling competences
- Strong people management both direct and the ability to lead through others. Demonstrable skills in leading, motivating and inspiring others through challenging scenarios
- Blades experience is ideal, but we would consider other industries, with the knowledge of process and heavy use of tools
- Related technical skills and experience like PFMEA, DFMEA, Lean Manufacturing
- You are expected to have a strategic and broad skill set, understanding the challenges at every stage and able to drive this department continuously forward
