Senior Infrastructure Engineer

About the department HPC & Cloud Engineering
HPC & Cloud Engineering is anchored in R&ED IT and supports the strategic digital transformation of our R&ED units at Novo Nordisk A/S which is needed to realize their strategy. We are responsible for developing, implementing, operating, maintaining, and supporting the data-, middleware - and IT infrastructure used by the R&ED units across Novo Nordisk A/S on-premise and in the cloud.
We take pride in being experts in IT infrastructure and platforms, and at the same time having experience and understanding of how our researchers use the platforms, data, and computing power we make available.
The role
In this role, you will take on the platform administrator role for the DataLab solution, which serves as a computational platform with a pre-built environment that ensures a base system suitable for scientific research and exploration. The DataLab was created to ensure comparable and predictable environments for scientific computation.
To succeed in this role, you understand how to perform, drive, and coordinate technical work within this area. You have the skills to perform the technical tasks, within infrastructure engineering, systems integration, support, docker containerization (i.e., building, configuring, and installing), updates and releases on software packages, and so forth.
Furthermore, you will also work on smaller and larger projects such as hardware replacement, system migrations, and building new analytics platforms. This work will involve designing solutions, to match the scientific research needs of the primary stakeholders. You will work within a scrum team dealing with data scientists and IT vendors and this will require a good level of collaborative skills and cooperation.

Do you have what it takes?
For this position, we are looking for a candidate who can tick off most of the following:
- A bachelor’s degree with a large focus on IT systems engineering and/or Scientific Computing or similar
- You are proficient in IT infrastructure and system engineering and have +5 years of experience with this.
Experience with:
- Containerisation
- Storage technologies
- Linux system administration
- CI/CD
- Configuration/infrastructure as code
- Python
