In Novo Nordisk clinical trial activities will increase significantly in the coming years while expanding into new therapy areas. With the ambition to become equally successful within new therapy areas as within our current, the Global Trial Planning area will be supporting clinical development project teams and the +50 Novo Nordisk (NN) Clinical Medical & Regulatory (CMR) affiliates with feasibility assessments, trial patient allocations and patient recruitment support.
About the department
Global Trial Planning is the Novo Nordisk core area for patient planning, patient forecasting and support. Global Trial Planning is anchored in our Global Trial Effectiveness area within Trial Portfolio Management and Innovation. The area will be responsible for supporting the entire organisation with feasibility analysis and patient allocations in close collaboration with +50 NN CMR affiliates. The department consists of several dedicated employees each with separate responsibilities towards the NN CMR affiliates and our Global Development (GD) Project teams located in Denmark. The area works in a global and complex environment interacting with numerous stakeholders at different levels in our affiliates as well as in the GD Project teams.
Global Trial Planning is a part of Global Development. Global Development is our clinical development area and responsible for managing clinical drug development worldwide from early development phases to product introduction. We ensure medical and scientific documentation for clinical submissions and authorities while ensuring that the process lives up to uniform global standards, regulations and business ethics. We work in global project teams with focus on delivering viable products that make a difference to patients and ultimately benefit society.
The position
As Director for the Global Trial Planning area you will be responsible for people management and a variety of tasks supporting trial planning and execution in Novo Nordisk. You will be responsible for taking the area to the next level by building a solid global feasibility process to support early trial planning in collaboration with the GD Project teams and you will utilise the feasibility insights to drive trial allocations across the CMR organisation in a close collaboration with various CMR stakeholders. You will be part of driving the data strategy to support strong and useful feasibility analysis on global and local scale.
The area is also responsible for phase 1 to 4 trial allocations, trial forecasts and scenario planning. You will have the strategic trial portfolio overview and combine various global and cross-portfolio considerations and insights to reach operationally feasible trial allocations. Last, but not least, you will be supporting the entire organisation in patient recruitment and recruitment risk mitigations. You will report to the VP for Global Trial Effectiveness.
Qualifications
You have a relevant master’s degree within Natural Science and several years of proven successful leadership experience. As you will be interacting with numerous colleagues globally and cross-functionally you must be a dedicated team player with strong communication and stakeholder management skills. You thrive within a complex environment and you have experience from clinical trial execution. You are analytical by nature, quality conscious and have a strong personal drive to reach goals. You are comfortable with ‘speaking with data’ and you can manage elevated strategic discussions and keeping a close eye on the details.
