About the department:
Global Medical Affairs once-weekly Semaglutide Diabetes, is responsible for building and delivering consistent scientific communication on Novo Nordisk’s GLP1 analogue once-weekly Semaglutide indicated for Type 2 Diabetes. The main areas of responsibility lie within the existing indication of T2D but the scientific area is expanding within and being explored to treat cardiovascular and diabetic kidney diseases.
The Position
As an Associate Global Medical Director, you will be part of a highly motivated group of medical doctors who have clinical, research and pharmaceutical experience, working on the GLP1 analogue projects. We have extensive collaborations across Medical Affairs departments as well as cross functional projects across the organisation.
As an Associate Global Medical Director, you will provide timely, accurate and credible scientific and medical input for a variety of projects. Your main tasks involve effective collaboration and communication with doctors who are Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) within their field of expertise, and internal stakeholders from marketing, patient access, global development, regulatory affairs and other functional areas in the company.
With a background as a medical doctor you will be trusted to provide medical input and support to clinical trials and at later stages drive the scientific dialogue based on the results from these trials. The job will give you the responsibility to connect with KOLs to gather medical and scientific information to help optimize product development and treatment of patients. You will play a key role in the development of publications based on our clinical trial results requiring your ability to interact with authors, statisticians, medical writers, and other stakeholders. Furthermore, you will support the development of internal and external medical education and guidance materials. The position involves presentations of data and participation in international conferences and scientific meetings. Additionally, you will guide other teams that are actively involved in developing Novo Nordisk's global marketing strategies, promotional materials and legal and medical aspects.
It is within the role to be stand-in for the Director and organize selected tasks across the team independently. You are expected to be able to make decisions and set direction on behalf of Global Medical Affairs.
Qualifications
You must be Medical Doctor with at least 5 years of clinical experience, research or preferred, both. Experience in clinical medicine, clinical research and development in pharmaceutical settings is an advantage. A Ph.D. degree is considered a plus but is not mandatory.
You have strong presentation and training skills. As a person you are extrovert, positive, team player, result oriented and set high standards. You are fluent in both spoken and written English.
International travel of approximately 20% every year should be expected.
