Head of ESG Reporting to Royal Unibrew

For more than two decades, Royal Unibrew has improved performance “inside the fence”. Now their journey will be further expanded to include the entire value chain to achieve their ambitious 2025 and 2030 commitments. They have reached a point, where they need an experienced ESG profile to structure and challenge data and reporting – in other words, take it to the next level.

Strategic direction for and establish Best-in-Class ESG reporting standards and tools

The role as Head of ESG Reporting is newly established and a result of an increasing need to professionalize and automate the ESG reporting, and to build a data-driven reporting further. Most importantly, reporting towards the market must be based on recognized and robust accounting principles and be in line with the ambitious KPI’s that Royal Unibrew have set for the future.

Data and information are delivered from subsidiaries and other business units, and your task is to set the direction for, together with Management and Group CSR, the Sustainability standards and reporting – and to communicate these to external stakeholders and internally. Other tasks include:

  • Management information by establishing a dashboard for key figures about energy, water, CO2, LTI, etc., and doing this through strong internal collaboration with colleagues in Group Finance and local Finance Managers.
  • Transform KPI’s into measurable targets and data.
  • Incorporate new areas into the reporting through close collaboration with CSR.
  • Further develop ESG process accounting policies, controls, and documentation.
  • Act as a go-to person regarding questions about the ESG reporting (from investors and others).
  • Engage in training and support to the organisation in how to work and structure data for reporting.

Your relations and stakeholders will be many and varied, and both be internally and externally. You are part of and report to the Director for Treasury & Finance in Group Finance, and you are also an important part of the management team in the unit. You enjoy a senior role, with indirect management of and support to colleagues across the organisation.

Senior Specialist / Manager, who is passionate about making a difference

We see you as a performance and result oriented individual, and to realise your ambitions, you are proactive and persistent. In your daily work, you are curious about and interested in understanding Sustainability across all its facets and staying updated on trends that can have an influence on your deliveries. Though having a good eye for details and being a data-cruncher, you are also able to fly high and think at an abstract level, and because your role is newly established, you must be ready to fill in the blanks yourself. Towards your surroundings, you are communicative and genuinely interested in engaging and collaborating with others and know that it is only through your own dedication that you can make others change.

Professionally, you are most likely working in a similar role today, where you excel in tasks related to ESG and Sustainability in general, and specifically, you are familiar with following:

  • Strong outset in financial reporting and accounting.
  • Experience in working with standards and schemes for ESG reporting related to the annual reporting, where you have built or extended data platform/data warehouse for relevant data.
  • Knowledge of SASB, incl. materiality, GRI, SDG, TCFD and Sustainalytics, MSCI requirements, and knowledge of EU taxonomy is an advantage.
  • Experience with transforming KPI’s into measurable targets and data.
  • Ability to develop ESG process accounting policies, controls, and documentation.
  • Academic credentials on bachelor or master level in Finance or Accounting.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English.
