Imagine being part of the team securing DSB’s investment in the Future S-network where multiple projects and tenders must be coordinated and planned to ensure start of the rollout of driverless S-trains in 2029?

Denmark is facing extensive investments and changes in the railway infrastructure. One of the investments is in the current S-network that must be converted into a fully automatic S-network. We expect the rollout to be completed in 2037.

Welcome to your future team You will work in a cross-functional Project Office. Most of your colleagues are working in the major project and programmes, just as you will mainly work in the Future S-train Programme. Thus, you will have both PMO colleagues with similar planning professions and your day-to-day colleagues in the projects.

An important role in securing that we will get our new Future S-network as planned You will play an important role in coordinating project activities, monitoring progress, and facilitating effective communication among stakeholders.

You will work in closely corporation with our project planners and project managers and assist the Project Managers in relation to best practice within planning – both theoretically, practically, and technologically. With time you will be a superuser of our planning tool, Primavera.

Your specific tasks

  • Create and maintain project schedules - ensuring realistic, coherent, executable, and communicable plans
  • Monitor progress against baseline and propose mitigations if necessary; ensure reliable forecast based on latest progress – from start to closure
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including work breakdown structures, task dependencies, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate project activities, monitor progress, and ensure adherence to project schedules and milestones.
  • Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize their impact.
  • Conduct regular reviews of project schedules to identify and address any deviations or delays promptly.

Experience within project planning You are collaborative and understand the importance of relations across professions and organizations.

You thrive in a diverse and political environment with many different stakeholders; you are not afraid of taking responsibility to get the job done. Also, you have an inherent feeling for the many and diverse needs in the organization.

We imagine that you:

  • Have genuine interest in detail analyses or deep diving into the given tasks
  • Have documented experience with designing and establishing project and portfolio/programme plans
  • Have a solid knowledge of best practice methods and tools – including extensive knowledge of MS Project Professional and Primavera as well
  • Might have experience with PRINCE2 and MSP
  • Develop processes for monitoring, controlling, and reporting on progress, which accommodate the needs of the Programme Management with consideration to the time of the project members involved.
