The Department
Sapiens Digital team is responsible for developing Sapiens' next generation of insurance online services, enabling insurance companies to accelerate their digital services to customers and agents.
The Digital team is focused on developing online capabilities for insurance companies on any platform, mobile, and web covering a wide range of self-service, commerce solutions aimed at optimizing the customers’ experience during engagements with their insurance companies & agents via digital channels.
The team is very diverse and have different multicultural backgrounds. Most of the team members are either developers, QA-specialists or product owners and are located in different parts of the world such as Denmark, India, Poland, Israel and Latvia. Thus, as a Development Manager you will spend a lot of time in motivating and engaging the cross-border teams and coordinate their work online which will take place in virtual daily stand-ups following an agile approach.
The position
The ideal candidate has experience with creating rapid application development tools, built for enterprise Fintech organizations, interested in working on a developing product, and wants to contribute his/her ideas, creativity, and technical experience.
Generally, you will be responsible for the development of the digital frontend at its infrastructure. You will have a stake in deciding the direction for the digital development for the digital division in collaboration with the team and senior management. Moreover, you will take part in designing the architecture together with the team where the goal is to make sure that the infrastructure across the organization has coherence and that everyone is programming cohesively and in the same direction.
As a Development Manager you will have the following responsibilities:
• Build a long-term roadmap and short-term plans towards product delivery. Work in close collaboration with the respected Product Group(s).
• Full responsibility over your product area's technical domain – architecture, integrations, technical governance, methodologies and best practices.
• Full responsibility over your product area delivery, integrations, quality, etc.
• Develop a high performing team of full-stack developers
• Manage cross organizational activities, initiatives and projects.
• Research and suggest new technologies to improve scale and performance.
• Strong relationship and team management with colleagues, customers, sales, regions, partners, services and product groups.
Requirements
The ideal candidate holds a B.A/BSc in Computer Science from a known university or has equivalent experience from lead technological units
It is a requirement that you have experience with the following:
• Experience in moving systems into production and on-going supporting production environments
• Relevant management experience.
• Experience in development of large, distributed software systems.
• Evidence of visionary and decisive leadership with the ability to inspire staff and others across the organization.
• Experience in leading agile teams and strong expertise with Agile/Scrum methodologies and best practices.
• Solid understanding cloud system architecture.
• Deep understanding with building modern web technologies.
• Experience with at least one cloud provider (AWS, Azure), and NoSQL databases.
• Experience in designing a microservices architecture and releasing using continuous deployment.
• Hands on approach with the ability to see the big picture whilst being knowledgeable with the product details.
It is an advantage if you have experience with the following:
• InsureTech experience.
• Experience in machine learning.
• Experience in working with international teams.
• Experience from a start-up company
As you will be working closely with the global teams placed in Denmark, Latvia, Poland, Israel, Lithuania, India and Germany, it is a requirement that you have excellent communication skills in both English and Danish, both written and orally. Additionally, it is a requirement that you currently reside in Denmark and have a valid Danish work, if you are not a Danish National
